…my light failed, the battery must have run out so I had to feel my way along the wall being careful not to trip on the uneven floor, then it turned a sharp corner and my heart missed a beat as I spotted someone in the distance, holding a lamp, a Local.

I saw crystal chandeliers, I heard a string quartet, I saw splendidly dressed couples, waltzing, I was offered a flute of champagne!
Feeling a tap on my shoulder, I turned to face an alluring young woman, her face expressionless, then without uttering a word she led me to the dance floor where the others stepped aside forming a circle around us, and I realised the onlooking revellers were the Locals.
She produced a red flower and placed it behind my ear then we danced, we twisted, we spun round and round and round, I laughed, and then…

Not the locals!
Afraid so!
Aye well, if you dance with the devil…
Did that. more than once!
Local…brilliant use of the word by simply capitalizing the first letter!
Which led me to search for a meaning of the reverse word Lacol…and there was:”Lacol is a name that evokes logical reasoning. You are possibly intelligent, intuitive, graceful, and even a psychic. Interest in spirituality and mysticism is a strong possibility in your quest for truth.”
Yeah, I know Keith…I know😁
There’s clearly more to the Locals than meets the eye – and possibly to the person who introduced them to you!
“ruh roe”
Last chance to miss that hell-bound train, aka Six Sentence Serial (Story) lol
I for one am looking forward to the next installment.
good comment by Nick, the change of a single letter to caps… very cool
SSS(S)-telling is a new venture for me and I’ve no idea where the train’s heading. Ruh roe, here we go!
Why do i have the feeling you are one of them, now?
I wonder!
Well described and spooky. Ending this episode with laughter makes me think something bad is going to happen next.
We shall see! Thanks, Frank.
And then … ??
…only time will tell!
😊
Very intriguing story Keith
I just hope I can keep it up, Sadje!
I have no doubt about that 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
And then what??? I can’t stand the suspense!! You got me all frazzled, I damn near had a case of the vapors! 😳
Good stuff, Keith!
At the moment in time, I have absolutely no idea Nancy! You are frazzled – imagine how I feel!!!
Wickedly suspenseful.
That’s the plan!
Oh dear! You didn’t drink the champagne, did you? Cuz I think you wandered into fairyland, and it’s gonna be hell to get back home!
Waiting on pins & needles…
It looked like champagne, and tasted like champagne, but was it champagne? I wonder!
Great continuation. The expressionless woman has me intruiged.
