How nice of Sandy and Claud to invite me.
“Ours is the house beside the stream with a Christmas tree outside”.
Unfortunately, I chose the wrong side of the stream and plodded through mud and muck rather than using a footpath. I got splattered and splashed as I slipped and slid. An on-looking duck thought I was quackers!
With the welcoming tree in sight, I crossed the stream. It was unexpectedly deep, but I made it.
I rang the bell.
“Hello, who are you?” asked a bemused lady as I made a mess of her doorstep.
It was the wrong house.
