for Fictions du Vendredi which is graciously hosted by Rochelle.
I thought I’d try to confuse some of you this week by writing a piece partly in Google-assisted Français, sorry, French.
.

Fear not though folks, because I’ve recorded the audio completely in plain English!
.
‘
I heard a voice
Suivez-moi, s’il vous plaît it said
From the darkness
a girl appeared
A look of fear
a tear-stained face
Ce qui vous veulent? I asked
Suivez-moi et vous verrez she replied
je ne veux pas I said
Vous devez she begged
She ran down an alley
Hâte she called
je ne peux pas suivre ton rythme I yelled
Faster and faster she went
Rapidement she shouted
Je suis perdant vous I said
She disappeared
Là où êtes vous? I called
Pas grave she cried
Ce qui vous a voulu? I asked
Il est trop tard she sobbed
Guess I’ll never know
‘

I wonder…why wa it too late..perhaps we’ll never know…ah well..c’est la vie!
Good one Keith! Super creative!!
I had a bit of fun with this! Thanks, Suzette,
I am throughly confused 🫤
Hopefully, the audio will un-confuse you!
Hopefully.
Now I do. You’ve ended it at a suspenseful moment
Yea!
Mysterious. Given she’s upset and it’s too late, I’m guessing it’s not a good thing. Still, on with his holiday!
At least he tried! Cheers, Iain.
Like Iain’s, this one also reads like a dream. The challenge is to figure out what it’s trying to tell you.
I like the effort you put into your story presentations, Keith.
Thanks, Lisa, that’s exactly how I hoped it would come across. For me, presentation is the thing I enjoy most when posting, though it can sometimes take a long time to achieve the desired effect!
You’re welcome, always a pleasure.
Pourquoi la Franglais, mon ami? Tres amusent, mais je ne comprends pas la motif de la femme.
Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais c’était amusant à écrire ! Beaucoup de choses étranges se sont produites quand je vivais en France.
🇫🇷
Vive la France!
Vive l’entent cordiale
Mais certainement, Neil!
Now I wish I knew more than English and Tannille gibberish. 😀
Otherwise, known as Tannibelish?
Ooo nice, I’ll have to remember that one!
Oh! Seems she was in a bit of trouble
She was but I have no idea what it was!
We’ll never know, I guess
Oh, quanto sei ingiusto a lasciarci in tale incertezza! Spero che la seconda parte non sia lontana. Vedi cosa succede quando ci prendi in giro? Hahaha!!
Hoisted by my own petard! La seconda parte sarà in caratteri Cinesi!
Hahaha!! Not that I gotta see! 😂
Dear Keith,
Thank you for the much needed translations. Now we’ll never know either. 😉
Shalom,
Rochelle
No, we are all in the dark! Thanks, Rochelle,.
A very haunting little tale. Well done.
Thanks so much, Sandra.
Well done! I’m okay with never knowing.
If we knew everything life would be very dull!
I loved this story. I have never considered writing a Spanglish short story. ¿Pueden los amantes encontrarse entre idiomas? Most certainly. Gracias por a dose of inspiration amigo.
Tracey
Thanks so much, Tracey. Por experiencia personal, ¡sí pueden!
darn, creative writing at its best. well done. 🙂
You say the nicest things, plaridel!
Very creative.
Thank you, Dawn!
Excellent, Keith. Is your French really that good? I don’t see Dale’s comment (yet). I wonder which language she will choose? 🙂
Thanks for the audio. It not only helped with my abysmal language disability, your talent added to the suspense. May they meet again soon.
No Bill, despite living there for a few years it isn’t! Thanks for listening along, I’m delighted to have suspended you!
🙂
Great Bill, I read it first to test my French and was so pleased I understood it, it’s been some years since I have used it but I suppose it is still there lurking in my brain somewhere thanks 🙂
Mysterious, even in English. That’s the kind of encounter that will torment one’s imagination for a lifetime.
I sure am glad you translate the French into English for the audio!
I see you commented that you had a little fun with this one. But–don’t you always?
Way to keep us hanging!
Oh what fun, my rusty French was creaking along nicely. The idea and presentation are unique. Merveilleux.
Oh, no. I hope everything turned out okay for her.
