At the far Western end of our beach, there’s a wall decorated with painted stones. It was commissioned in 2020 during the Covid crisis and continued to grow for a couple of years.
I attempted to whittle down the number of photos but I couldn’t decide which to leave out, so I’m afraid you’ve got the lot!
Don’t forget, if you wish to enlarge a picture to take a closer look, click it once. A second click will increase it even more.

These are lovely, such fabulous colors. It’s like opening a new giant box of crayons! There were a couple that read “Bexhill” which at first looked like “Sexhill” to me! 😂
Are the stones snugly fit together to stay in place on their own or is some sort of adhesive used to keep them on the wall? The happy bee at the end made me smile. What a wonderful idea! Thanks for sharing your pix with us, Keith! I loved them! 🌈

I can assure you I live in Bexhill, not Sexhill, although that could be quite interesting! The stones were added in batches and pressed into wet cement. Delighted you like them, Nancy.

Love this idea of painting stones and crafting a wall. Marvelous photos. I like the one with “Be Kind”

These stones are wonderful. During the crises – any crises – there is so often a feeling of helplessness. What can one do? Each one is unique and is hopeful. No contest and no prizes for the best. (I hope.) I like the butterflies!

I’m so pleased you like them. No, not a competition, just our local community coming together at a difficult time.

They are beautiful with some poignant ones amongst them. A reminder of when the unthinkable hit the world and hopefully will never happen again.

There are some very moving messages. Several are dedicated to the NHS and its nurses and doctors that did and still do a wonderful job.

Somehow that stone thing got started with Covid, but here they just laid them on the ground in random places. Having them all on a wall like that is a much better idea.

Having them fixed place assures that they’ll remain there for many years to come.

Hi Keith – I’ve never liked the painted stones – but realise I”m out of the loop. I appreciate this development … but the stones – we’re meant to be preserving them … not quieting them away to be painted up. Cheers Hilary

I guess it’s subjective. We can’t all like the same things! Thanks, Hilary.

Very cool! Hello! It’s me back from a long vacation? Nah, I was sick? I had back surgery & it was acting up big time, so they decided to play with it some more so we’ll see. Can’t wait to get out & start walking again! Well, must move on ol’ friend! I always loved your pictures & had to come see what’s new. I hope you are well & have a great day!
