for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt where the given word is Perpetual.
‘

‘
I attended a quiz the other evening’.
One of the questions was, what’s the longest English word? Easy. I shot up my hand.
‘Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis’ I said and I started spelling it. ‘P-n-e-u-m-o-n-o…………’. I stopped midway as people started yawning!
Next question. What does perpetual mean?
Again, I raised my hand.
“Continuous, everlasting, perennial, constant, endless, interminable, repetitious,” I said, “persistent, ongoing, nonstop…”
When people started talking among themselves I realised I was going on a bit, so I stopped, ceased, quit, ended, halted, terminated….

Thanks for laughing along, Beth!
Hahaha, I almost hurt my vocal chords trying to say that longest word out loud…hehe. Really fun read, Thank you Keith!
Oh dear, that won’t do! Thanks, all the same, Suzette.
Well done Keith … I had a good giggle … cheers Hilary
Thanks so much, Hilary!
We be the same guy, Bro.
Oh dear, you too? Cheers, Ron.
That is a real word? I would never remember how to spell it, let alone how to pronounce it.
Now you know why I didn’t attempt an audio! It’s not exactly a fun word as it’s a lung disease caused by inhaling very fine ash and sand dust!
That was funny Keith!
I’m delighted you found it so, Tessa!
Hahahaha!!
Awesome way to use the prompt! 💞
An ‘interesting,’ perhaps even impressive, use of the prompt, Keith. The question might have been, what us the meaning of the initialism, TMI?
hahaha – a man in perpetual motion and it takes a lot to get your lips around that one 🙂
Ha, ha. Lovely piece. My father was a lecturer at home and with friends at dinner parties……on history, architecture, geology, geography………zzzzz or chomp chomp, gloup, gloup. Wishing you creative holidays. Thank you for entertaining us every week…every day. Restful week.
Heeheehee! Thanks for the fun. That word has always given me fits trying to learn to spell it.
