for Six Sentence Stories where the given word is Juice.

.
Years ago on the slopes of Bordeaux,
a harvest in the sun.
Plump purple grapes were flung into crates,
and the ritual had begun.
Trodden and squeezed the juice was released,
a taste of things to come.
Five years to soak in barrels of oak,
the vintner’s task was done.
Finally bottled and labelled and corked,
boxed and sent away.
Then opened and poured, savoured, adored,
on this, its finest day!

Your poem says it so poetically
Poetry is not my kind of thing, so I’m really pleased Sadje!

Nice to see you using your poetic license again. 🙂
If five years is enough, why is it in books toffs like Lord Peter are always asking for some Chateau XX 100-yr-old vintage?
Lord Peter lets it keep on maturing in the bottle, though I’m not sure what century-old wine would taste like!
How to make wine in 6 easy steps!
Santé, mon vieux.
No more difficult than making a cuppa! Sugar?
What a wonderful, joyous poem!
Skol to you, Keith!

And in this masterful work I could feel the vineyards- the barrels and then was ready to swirl my own glass of wine to check the legs….
Mmmmm
