Written in a rush…

Alarm clock rings

Hop out of bed

Leap in the shower

Drag on some clothes

Coffee too hot

Scald my mouth

Burn the toast

Trip over the cat

Rush out the door

Run down the road

Leap on the train

Then off again.

Fly to the office

Sit at the desk

Stare at the screen

Answer the phone

Nip out for lunch

Gobble a snack

Back to work

Start over again

Home-time at last

Stand on the train

Pushed and jostled

Then off again

Open the door

Grab the mail

Pour a drink

Collapse on the couch

    Dear Keith,

What a frenetic and fun piece of writing. And, as always, I’m amazed at what you’re able to do with the frog. So much fun. I might have to steal this one from you for future use. 😉

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Thanks so much, Rochelle. I love mucking around with the frog. He’s all yours if you promise to give him a good home!

I could feel the rush to get things done, and the continual movement in our lives. Nicely written.

That would have been me a few years back! Not now thankfully. Cheers Colline

Very original, from the pace, the layout to the sweating frog. Well done.

Phew indeed … and smelly if it’s been a hot day! Great writing though – cheers Hilary

Not much fun. I did a daily rush hour commute from Eastbourne for years so I remember it well.

      • hilarymb's avatar hilarymb July 25, 2019 / 09:35

Hi Keith – that’s why I never wanted to commute … did so in places by car … the Lewes to E/b one was the worst … but at least I was in my own space and could get to where I wanted to get to once back here … the thought of commuting by train always appalled me … I’ll do it occasionally now as when my mother was ill in London – horrific … but needs must. Seems to be hotter today – less breeze … cheers for now – Hilary

I went to London – got a seat on the way there and invariably stood most of the way back! I hope the new aircon is working at the Congress Theatre tonight as I’m going to be there!

      • hilarymb's avatar hilarymb July 28, 2019 / 14:19

Hopefully they’ll have opened the doors and refreshed the place through … though I hope the seats are fixed … let us know .. via a story! Enjoy –

I thank heavens that I am retired, you reminded me that it is to hot ride the trains.

    • Keith's Ramblings's avatar Keith's Ramblings July 25, 2019 / 09:00

Very hot, very crowded – not much fun! Thanks Michael.

When commuting was my life, I enjoyed it. The rush and the jostle. And I feel that your story captured that experience completely. Although honestly, I’m glad commuting is not a daily thing for me. Very original post.
