Post 1624. Sunday January 28

20-eric-wicklund-january-28th-2018When I agreed to become part of a living statue double act I didn’t expect this. I thought we’d be Laurel and Hardy or something. This is daft.

I’m beginning to think you are right. I’m cold and my arms are aching, I didn’t realise how heavy you were.

I beg your pardon? Are you suggesting I need to lose weight?

Well, erm….oh, stay still, there are some people coming.

Haha! Did you hear what that boy said?

What a nerve! Of course it’s small. So would his be if he was exposed to the chilly elements like me.

I said you should have worn some silver underpants.

Real statues don’t, can you imagine Michelangelo’s David dressed in Y-fronts?

We need to think of something else to be. How about Kermit and Miss Piggy?

Or Chandler and Janice from Friends!

Oh…my…god no!

I’ve had enough. Put me down. I’m getting dressed and going home.

I’ll join you.

At this week’s Sunday Photo Fiction the picture is provided by Eric Wicklund

Shrinkage … what can you do? Nice take.

I’m trying to imagine Kermit and Miss Piggy in that pose. Yikes!

    That’s dedication to their art!

Exactement! I’ll continue to limit my artistic endeavors to writing!

LOL, funny story! They really did choose an unfortunate statue to mimic. At least if they were dressed as Kermit and Miss Piggy, they’d be covered up and free of little boys’ rude comments!

This was an amusing story, did they run because his mother in law was walking towards them.

I didn’t think of that! How awkward would that be?

Such a comical tale – love the dialogue between the statue people . Sort of ‘sotto voce’ as they face the passers by. Reminds me of those buskers covered in silver body paint in Trafalgar Square !

…now they really are clever! They even manage to ignore the pigeons. Thanks so much WWM

Ha, ha. I’m afraid he’s left himself open to more than the cold air. Best luck to them finding new characters to pose as. Funny and good writing, Keith. 😀 — Suzanne

Heeheehee! Great story, and i don’t care how light and nymph-like she is, carrying anything in your outstretched arms for hours will make your arms tired!

I actually have seen ‘live’ statuary… but never nude doubles 😉
A fun read – thank you for the link.

The life of statues are filled with challenges. Good of you to point out the travails of this underappreciated minority. 😉 Fun story, Keith. Loved the dialog.
