For Wordless Wednesday and bloghops various!

One of our town’s most beautiful places is Highwoods, somewhere we can commune with nature away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront and streets!

I appologise in advance for the number of pictures, I didn’t know which ones to dump!

We are going to do the blue walk. Off we trot!

Lovely selection. We miss our trips to the woods, but since the Forestry Commission devastated it, it’s lost its soul. Woods with no birdsong is so upsetting.

It was awful when we left in 2014. We went back after we returned to Lincolnshire and none of the promised replacement trees were present. It was the lack of birdsong as they had destroyed so many habitats.

The bark that is spotted is very interesting! And the one that looks like bones, skeleton from some ancient creature (not human) also fascinated me. Thanks for the share!

That was a lovely walk through the woods. I like to see the different textures and shapes as they grow. The steps looked very much like a railway track.

It’s a lovely place. Every time I walk up those steps I think of railways tracks!

There are some gnarly trees, interesting walkways and that pond of water didn’t look very inviting, otherwise it looks like a typical woods walk around here too.

Thanks, Sadje, it will look very different in a couple of months time when the trees shed their leaves.

Looks like a lovely trip through the woods. It’s so lush, it reminds of the woods where I grew up just north of New York City.

Well done Keith – lots of ‘must’ this year … and there are berries that are obvious (that I see) – so many this year. It looks in quite good order – not too stressed by the summer of sun. Cheers – loved the pics – Hilary
