We were treated to afternoon tea at Reid’s Hotel, a five star establishment once frequented by Winston Churchill!

We had a wine tasting at Blandy’s

Oh look, another church!

No visit to Funchal would be complete without a trip downhill on a street toboggan – up to 28mph with no brakes!

Hold tight!

Phew, we made it!

.

    Fantastic! What a beautiful place and the colors are outstanding! Those “sled taxis” are intriguing; never seen anything like that.

      I’ve never seen so much colour! I saw the toboggans on a TV programme just before my visit and couldn’t wait to have a go!

    Amazing! We went on a European vacation a few years back, and whew! It wouldn’t take much to get me back there. (Other than cold, hard cash. LOL.) I enjoyed sampling your adventure.
