For Wordless Wednesday and bloghops various.

Eleven adventurers and I were based in the capital of Madeira, Funchal. Let’s start by taking a walk around!

We were treated to afternoon tea at Reid’s Hotel, a five star establishment once frequented by Winston Churchill!

.

.

..
It has a lovely garden!

.

.
Meanwhile back in town…

.

.

.

.

.

.
We had a wine tasting at Blandy’s

.
Oh look, another church!

.

.
No visit to Funchal would be complete without a trip downhill on a street toboggan – up to 28mph with no brakes!

.

Hold tight!

.
Phew, we made it!

.
That’s it for now – next week we’ll be heading into the wild , be sure to wear your walking boots!

HERE’S LINKY!

What a cool adventure. I ate the food and had a couple of pints. You do the coolest adventures.
Thank you for hosting the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Keith. 🙂
As is expected of you…. fabulous and wonderful and beautiful pictures, Keith.
Do you join in on travel groups?
Thanks for your kind words, Dale.
Yes, I love travelling as part of a group and have done for many years!
I think I have to look into this type of travelling. As long as it’s not 12 countries in 9 days 😉
You seem to choose wonderful ones,
Fantastic! What a beautiful place and the colors are outstanding! Those “sled taxis” are intriguing; never seen anything like that.
I’ve never seen so much colour! I saw the toboggans on a TV programme just before my visit and couldn’t wait to have a go!
Wow! Gorgeous photography~. we just had St Peter’s Fiesta ~ in MA ~ you certainly had a great time ~ thanks,
I sure did, thanks Carol.
I Googled St Peter’s Fiesta – it’s quite an event! I had no idea he was the patron saint of fishermen!
There’s so much to see in this beautiful world, thank you for showing us a part of it!
I’m always amazed by what I find. Thank you, Mimi.
Fantastic pictures! Looks like it was an amazing trip.
It sure was and the best are yet to come!
Those toboggans are so fun (looking). I’d love to do that!
It was quite an experience!
Lovely pictures of a beautiful place.
It’s a wonderful island. In next week’s photos we’ll be heading for the mountains!
Awesome 😎
It looks like such a fun place with all the art, bright colors and activities. The architecture is interesting as well.
It’s pretty lively!
What a gorgeous place! I love seeing the art everywhere.
There were painted doors everywhere I looked. It photographed lots of them of them and I’m saving the up for a post to come!
So that’s where you’ve been off to 😺
Looks so festive and bright. The landscape, the architecture, the bustling streets…
Indeed it was, and a wonderful place it turned out to be!
Madeira seems a little paradise, I believe. It’s a dream, reading about with this Impressions.
Have a wonderful week again.
It’s small, but magnificent! Thanks so much.
I love Madeira, and you brought back many happy memories.

There is so much to enjoy there!
Funchal absolutely leaped off the screen through your photos! I really enjoyed the visual tour!
I’m so pleased! Thank you Shiju.
Stunning photos as always, Keith! Those colors are absolutely popping! And those sled taxis are so cool and unique, I’d love to see them in person.
Have a great weekend!
Thanks so much – that ride was quite an experience!
Original streetscape in Europe. What a journey
Amazing! We went on a European vacation a few years back, and whew! It wouldn’t take much to get me back there. (Other than cold, hard cash. LOL.) I enjoyed sampling your adventure.
Hi Keith – typical Churchill place – but must have been a great visit. Looks an amazing place to visit – cheers Hilary
