…for Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers on a Wednesday!
.
.
.
We were on a journey. Sally was driving while I listened to the radio, phone in hand.
‘For your chance to win £1000 in the Big Quiz text 565656’, said the DJ.
I’d texted every day hoping to become the chosen one.
Ring-ring!
I couldn’t believe it, I got a call back from the radio station, it was my turn!
‘Question 1…correct, 2…correct, 3…correct, 4…’
Silence. We’d driven into a tunnel. No radio. No phone.
As we emerged, the radio crackled back to life.
‘It seems we lost John. Hi, Jenny, let’s see if you can win that £1000’.

So it seems, Sadje!

Typical! Good take.
Indeed, cheers, Di!
Timing is everything. As my generation would say, “That’s a bummer.”
Mine to, bummer!
LOL. Good one. Or not. I actually won one of those radio contests once, but I cannot recall what I won!
Congratulations, Denise!
Nooooooo! Brilliant take!
Yessssssss! Thanks, Violet.

Good one Keith. Nicely done. The hope of a fortune lost in a tunnel…pretty profound!

Brilliant interpretation of the picture, Keith

Oh no. Lost the signal. How infuriating.
It certainly was! Thanks, Tessa.
Of all the rotten times to hit a tunnel! Shame she didn’t pull over.
Indeed! Thanks Mimi!
Time to scream into that tunnel! Ahhhhh!
I bet he did!
And he stared at the phone in total shock and disappointment!
Excellent, dear Keith!
Excellent! How frustrating for him!
Thanks, Clare, it certainly was!
If I had another 11 words to spare, I’d add that! Thanks, Nancy!
Dammit! Don’t you just hate it when you lose your connection? Wonderful and original take on the photo, Keith.
Thanks for the photo Dale, it’s certainly inspired a variety of takes! As for losing your connection, it’s so …………….
My pleasure and boy does that please me when it inspires such a variety! It really is so /”!$%?!

His day will come, I’m sure! Thanks, Rochelle.
