I’m leaving this miserable flat. Too many bad memories.
She left me the cat for company when she walked out. At least it doesn’t constantly argue and keep telling me I’m boring.
She blamed our separtion on me.
“It’s your fault my friends no longer want to see me, it’s your fault we have no social life”.
I’ve found myself a new job, I hated the last one. My work colleagues threw a leaving party. They held it after I left.
Time to load the van. Where’s that cat?
“Jaspurr, Jaspurr…”
“Let meow!”
“How did you get in that box?”
.
Prod the frog to see the squares!.

Perhaps he’ll start a better life now
He’ll have a go!

Nice response tot he prompt. So typical of a cat! In 1916 when DH’s grandparents moved their family from MB to SK, their belongings travelled several days in a boxcar. They unloaded, set the old wood-burning range in place and opened the oven door. Out came one of their cats!
Oh wow, that’s so funny! Cat’s do the strangest things!
They do indeed. There’s truth to that old saying, “Curiosity killed the cat.”
He’s taking the cat along though- her gift and some part of her!
Smart cat- knew where to go lest it should be left behind! Time to move 🙂
Absolutely, a cat for company! Thanks for dropping by, Anita.
Sounds like he is making a new start. Cats do seem to like boxes. Great story Keith, endings are never easy.
Thanks so much ,Suzette. On his way to bore some more!
Awesomeness!
I think I see the problem…
Thanks so much. Unfortunately, he doesn’t!
May he and the cat have a great life!
He can only hope!
Yup, that’s a cat!
So true!
Methinks he has delusions on just how exciting he is!!
My thoughts entirely! He doesn’t seem to see the signs.
Some are blind… No matter how close we put them.
Oops!
Very! Cheers, Beth.
I loved the leaving party held after he left
They were pleased to se the back of him!
Jaspurr!! Cute. And he talks! Let’s hope your MC’s social life improves in his new neighbourhood. I’m smiling at the leaving party he wasn’t invited to. Lots to read between the lines there.
Thank you so much, Margaret!
I was not too sympathetic towards this guy, but at least he likes cats.
I’m not sure the cat likes him! Cheers, James.
“My work colleagues threw a leaving party. They held it after I left.” Even the cat wants out! So funny, Keith.
I’m beginning to feel sorry for him – the cat, that is! Thanks, Lisa.
lol 🙂 You’re welcome.
“I’ve found myself a new job, I hated the last one. My work colleagues threw a leaving party. They held it after I left.” I love how much you’ve communicated with these lines! I feel for this guy, and wish him the best.
I so pleased you liked it, Angela, thank you!
it looks like the cat doesn’t want to left behind. 🙂
I’m pretty sure you’re right!
Atleast the cat is sticking around. That’s good news. It can be a fresh start for him.
Indeed, but I’m not sure it wants to be transported in a box!
He seems like a sad sort, but maybe without her he’ll have a fresh start. They don’t seem compatible. I love the line, “Let Meow.” Very clever tale, Keith!
Thanks so much Brenda!
He urgently needs to learn ‘how to win friends and influence people’ – maybe start by buying that very book!
Love the timing of the leaving party – it speaks a million words.
(I’ve seen that cat recently, also in a box.)
Sad and funny and sad again. I loved “Let meow!”
Dear Keith,
That says a lot about him if his coworkers threw his going away party AFTER he left. LOL. Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle
She doesn’t sound like a very pleasant person. I say ‘good riddance!’ You’ll be fine with Jaspurr who keeps his thoughts to himself. Funny line, though, about the party!
