Today we follow in the footsteps of Michael Corleone, played in The Godfather movies by Al Pacino. Many of the scenes were filmed in the hilltop villages of Savoka and Forza d’Agro.

What a wonderful post! (repeat 10 times) And to hear the music as I walked around the curves was an extra treat. I did get a little dizzy.
Your presentations are always spectacular. Each one different but all well planned treats for your followers.

It is, and when you watch the film again after the visits you see it in a different light. Thanks, Denise.

Such a well lived and well loved area but we would not want to be so close to the edge, it’s a long way down. It is definitely a place rich in history and culture.

I can’t wait to climb Mt. Etna! The picture under the monument dedicated to Francis Ford Coppola, I can’t imagine what the view must look like from there. (I did see the first Godfather movie, but none of the others)

It was a hard climb but worth every trip, slip and slide! Sicily featured heavily in The Godfather Coda, it’s well worth watching despite having one of the most heartwrenching endings imaginable!

I love The Godfather. I’ve seen it so many times but never tire watching it. What an experience to be able to see where they filmed some of the scenes! Playing the video while checking the photos definitely got me in the mood. Thanks for spoiling us with the photos, Keith.

Me too Maria! I’d never watched The Godfather: Coda, but I did as soon as I returned as much of was filmed in Sicily. I’m so glad I did – despite its ending being the most distressing movie moment I’ve ever sat through!

It has to be one of the greatest movies of all time. Whilst there, that tune was constantly playing in my mind!
