At this point I would normally have included an audio, but I’ve got a bit of a cold and I’d hate to pass it on to you so I’m afraid you’ll have to do withou.…taaa-chooo!

Two lonely souls in a fishbowl,
Swimming the opposite way.
Passing twice a day.
Nights he worked, she slept.
Days she worked, he slept.
Day after night after day.
One lonely soul in a fishbowl.
Swimming round and round.
Day after night after day.
.

Btw, ‘we’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year’ is a line from Pink Floyd’s song Wish You Were Here.

Lol…so kind of you to not pass on your cold…via audio transmission .. 🤣🤣
Keith, your story described quite a few people I knew in real life when I was growing up. They were working hard to make ends meet, so that their families could have a better quality of life. Thank you for the reminder that work is not all sunshine, rainbows and ease. 👍
Oh and… bless you! I thought I heard you sneeze 🤕
Thanks for your comment Suzette, I also know of some who got their priorities wrong. But I can’t thank you for blessing me because apparently, if I do, a fairy will die!
Oh, my we cannot have that! Long live fairies!!
😂😂😂
LOL🤣
😄😂
That’s what my eyes are doing with this ****** cold!
😉
Absolutely beautiful. “Wow!”
Thank you so much, Susan.
Great fun Keith – but I’m glad you enlightened me … I needed that! Cheers Hilary
Now you know Hilary!
This is a beautiful poem Keith, hope you are better soon and long life to fairies 🙂
Thank you, the fairies are looking after me well!
Heard that sneeze!! Get well soon. 🙂
People miss more than they know when they give up today with each other for a tomorrow that may never come. Sad tale, well told, Keith.
Absolutely so. Thank choo Dora!
This is so well done, Keith – and I hope you feel better ASAP!

David
Thanks for your kind words, David.
The “Like” button doesn’t do it. There should be a “LOVE IT!” button. BLAMMO!
Wow, what can I say? I rarely attempt poetry and always wonder what the reaction will be when I do. I wasn’t expecting a comment such as this!
If you don’t do something to keep the love alive…
Tell me about it!!!
Love it. Well done!
I’m pleased, thanks, Patricia!
Thank you for considering my health, Keith. And a fine poem on top of that. I hope you recover soon. 🙂
