This dear boy, is my recently executed artistic endeavour,” he gushed clutching his latest painting.
“What is it?”
“A variation on a theme by Van Gogh”.
To me, it was just a load of yellow splodges!
“His depiction of helianthuses, members of the Asteraceae family” he explained.
My variation of facial expressions led him to simplify his description!
“Sunflowers,” said he.
“If you say so!” said I.
