Leonardo Tauriello’s pizza tasted deliziosa! He wiped his cheesy lips and picked pieces of slimy tomato from his lap.
A coach hissed a halt. The door rattled open releasing an eager batch of tourists. After the oohs and ahhs abated he introduced himself. Then, his joke.
‘Why does The Tower of Pisa lean? Because it’s Italicized!’
As the groans died down he launched into his lecture. Some listened, others gazed around.
Having photographed themselves propping up the monument, they returned to their coach where he stood in hope of the odd Euro or two.
Just time for some tiramisu before the next lot arrived!

Thanks to Rochelle for hosting and to Anne Higa for the photo.

I returned home from visiting my daughter and her family in Scotland a couple of days ago, and on Friday I’m travelling to Dubai to stay with my son and his lot for a while. Appologies if I don’t get to read everybody’s work this week!
This was a fun read, Keith. Love the froggy 🙂

Thanks, Sadje. I’ve followed lots on my travels – not something I’d wish to do!

You’re welcome Keith. I wouldn’t either but perhaps we don’t have what it takes to be one.

Not far off my experience of Pisa – see my obligatory ‘holding up the leaning tower’ photo on my story! Made me chuckle. Hope you enjoyed Scotland, I think you might have managed a couple of dry days in there! Enjoy Dubai.

The weather was reasonably kind, even saw some sunshine! This time next week I’ll probably be wishing for clouds, it’s getting pretty warm out there!

I liked cheesy lips. Although myself I prefer my pizzas folded like a Cornish pasty

Love it. Started of reading in my best Italian accent 🙂 and loved the trick of it leaning because it is italicised. Perfetto!

A true story in one way or another. I notice that Leonardo snacks a lot on the job or else his meals are interrupted by work.
Are Euros really odd?

I think it’s the former James! He prefers churros to Euros, far tastier!

most tourists go there to have their picture taken and leave as quickly as they have come. well, they don’t have the luxury of time. more sights await. 🙂

Leonardo’s got his script down pat it seems, and the tourists seem to be missing something in their experience of travel. Well described.
