for Wordless Wednesday and others!
Last week, after showing you some pictures of a beautiful Chinese garden, I said I was going to have some Chinese food for my dinner.
Then I remembered the I food I sampled in Beijing’s famous Wangfujing Snack Street and decided to go Indian instead!
*Natasha mentioned in her comment that I’ve posted these pictures before – she’s right and I’d completely forgotten! Whoops!

Most definitely! Although I’d love to see most of those creatures ALIVE and swimming happily in the sea to be SOMEONE or something else’s lunch! 😳

I have to agree. Seeing the sea horses made me think just that.

Now Keith…did you really sample all these delicacies?

Honestly? No! There was a lot of delicious stuff though.

I remember you sharing a few of these variants some time ago too dear Keith. I would have grinned ear to ear seeing these 2 years ago.Think I did the last time too. Ha! Ha!
Not anymore! Vegan that I am. 🙂
Now, I’m just curious to know what Indian did you have?
Here’s my little free verse story for Sadje.

I did pick out the grossest! Most of what I saw and ate was delicious.
I had my usual Indian, a vindaloo. I do like it spicy!
Thoroughly enjoyed your story

Thanks Keith. So happy to hear that you enjoyed the story. Nah, not that you picked up the grossest of all. Ha! Ha!
I know the taste way to well, been there done it all. Sure doesn’t taste bad. 🙂
That seems like a life time ago though for Vegan/Vegetarian me now! lol!
What Vindaloo did you make/ Pork or lamb?
Have a delicious rest of the week.

I’m usually happy to try different foods, so I don’t consider myself overly picky, but these would all hit the “no thank you” list. Nicely photographed though. 😀

Thanks, Christina. These were the worst I saw, everything else was scrumptious!

Mom says it looks like some of the food she would see in Korea or China. Nothing she could actually eat but it is very popular.

It’s beautiful to see, but I’m not sure where I’d begin. I’ll stick to my granola and yogurt, but thank you anyway.

Your captures look true to life! Different cultures, different tastes. Am most surprised about the seahorses and the star-shaped shells. I would use those for decorations!. One time we were planning a Chinese breakfast in Shen-Zhen, when I saw a pile of shrimp being cleaned on the (cement) floor where people of the market walked. That was too much for my Western taste buds, and we went to McDonalds.

Brings back memories of street food in Shanghai and Beijing. I sampled quite a few things and nothing enjoyed it (with no unfortunate side effects), but was definitely living on the edge 😸

If those were my meal options I could finally lose those 10 pounds I’m trying to get rid of!

All these beautiful creatures should be seen alive and without skewers. Definitely not on my plate.

Hi Keith – well would you believe it … I thought the title was ‘Pickle time’ – just realised that wasn’t right … but these are extraordinary photos – showing us some interesting foods – I suspect we’ll be there in a few years. Poor seahorses though … cheers Hilary
