I love this antiques market, hey look at that, over there, I’m sure you could restore it to its former glory, improve it even.
No problemo, I could reposition that, add some detail there, maybe even move those to the top then I’ll try getting rid of them…
No no, not…
… and when it’s done I could paint that bit red and that part green, even add a touch of blue but keep the side as it is unless you’d rather I …
No, listen, not that one, the one to the left of it!
Oh, that one, silly me, well I could attach a bit under there, take off that thing, possibly move that from there to here and….
.
Thanks to GirleOnTheEdge for hosting.

Nothing like improving an antique beyond recognition. Although I think I have seen art works made from pieces of old tables and chairs altered beyond recognition.
Me too and it’s not always a bad thing!
That’s just what I do when I find a picture I like. I plan on all those changes before I start painting. Granted, some of the changes don’t work out so well, but hey… Have fun restoring the antiques. 🙂
I’m a bit like that when writing. Think of a story when given a prompt then find a way to change it in order to be different from the rest! Like you say, it doesn’t always work!
Haha! Need to identify the project first. 😀
Something he’s not good at! Cheers, Sadje.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Not big on change. Good six
Some are, some aren’t! Thanks UP.
This made me smile, Keith! Love the two voices, the ‘posh’ one rather reminded me of Brian Sewell. 🙂
Brian Sewell? Now you come to mention it! Cheers, Chris.
At the end of the day, I believe your potential customer was ready to bolt and run in the other direction from the “restoration character”, lol
Call me a traditionalist, but restoration in my mind doesn’t involve too many “extras” 🙂
Enjoyed audio and written, Keith!
I’m with you on restoration in fact I quite like the ‘distressed’ look! Pleased you enjoyed it, Denise.
Some things need to be improved, but not necessarily improved beyond recognition. Fun story!
Very true Mimi!
A great characterisation of someone who’s over-helpful – and doesn’t listen. I could see him clearly – but, I’m just thinking – why do I assume it was a ‘him’? Hm…
Thanks, Jenne, it does sound a bit more himie than herie! He’s certainly enthusiastic.
Very amusing, Keith. The kind of character that would bulldoze the trees to get a better view. 😉
That’s him! Cheers, Doug.
Great riddle piece. Thanks Keith for the podcast.
My pleasure, thanks so much, Susan.
surely, if we are to ponder the ever constant (if not always obvious) internal drive to change and improve, there is nothing like an antique store or flea market to become aware of it
fun SIx
Absolutely, they act as reminders that some things have not been improved by change.
Good one.

Thanks so much, Regine.
Glad to discover your blog!
I’m really pleased you have, thanks so much Ashok.
Good one, keith. I have the idea our little tinkerer would tinker so much there would be nothing left original to tinker with!
I used to have one of those. Grown-up now but still tinkering I’m sure!
Easier to imagine than to pull out the power tools!
I’m all for that.
Me too. I’ve lost count of all the good ideas I’ve had!
I think it’s getting towards nearly two, Keith
Cheeky!!!
Some folk just can’t leave well alone.
Where’s Rosey when you need her?
Don’t encourage her for goodness sake, I can just imagine the mess she’d make!
Brilliant. This guy will have the oldest antiques shiny and renewed, better than ever!
No doubt about it!
