Short stories featuring musical instruments and those who play them!
.

‘It has to be there somewhere’ said Percy. Percy was a pianist of note, and he was performing at the Piano Palace when things went pear-shaped!
‘Come out, come out, wherever you are’ he yelled as he searched through the piano strings.
He’d been playing The Flight of the Bumblebee when one of the notes went missing. B had suddenly fallen silent.
Plinkity-plonk-plinkity-plonk … nothing … Plinkity-plonk-plinkity-plonk … nothing!
C Sharp hadn’t seen it; neither had A Flat. F told him that it had, erm, gone off!
It seems that halfway through the piece, B thought being an actual bee would be far more fun so it buzzed off to make honey!.
.
This is how it should sound!

Heeheehee! “B” has gone off, all right. What a fun story!
Sure has! Cheers Mimi.
Tut tut…. how frustrating for him.
I know, poor Percy!
😜😂
Fab and quirky, as always, Keith 🙂
Nice of you to say so, thanks so much!
My pleasure, Keith 🙂
Clever clever. the bee went off. really annoying though in real life isn’t it?
An awful lot of things have B’d off in the last year! Thanks, Anishta.
Too bad, B flyed away ;)) Very good one!
A B nuisance! Cheers.
Really fun! Made me smile!🌷
I’m pleased! Thanks so much.
Oh, Keith. One day the English language is going to say it has had enough of being tortured like this and fly away from you. Wait for it! LOL. Another good one.
Nooo! Then what will I do?
Wow! I’ve heard “Flight of the Bumblebee” before, but I loved watching those hands fly!
Very impressive isn’t it? I wish I could do it!
I can imagine you Bee-ing inspired with this funny one on your walk:) Tee–Hee! Blame the bee:)
…either the bee or the beer I imbibed while writing it! Cheers Arti!
Lovely whimsey. I like ‘F’ and his potty mouth!

He’s so rude! Cheers Iain.
Nice touch adding the U-Tube Flight of the Bumblebee video to the end of your post. Just added that extra layer. Watching the fingers fly over the key board is so fascinating.
My letter P is a guest post for publication if you get a chance to stop in: https://writingiscommunication.wordpress.com/2021/04/19/p-publication/#comment-4888
If only I could play like that!
Thanks for the link, I’ll go take look.
I wish I could play at all. I always struggled with reading the music sheets so I didn’t get to far with learning to play anything. My mom and her sisters all played the bagpipes. Love the sound, but I can’t play…
I have to say, the bagpipes are the only instruments I can’t listen too! Each to their own!
Hmm, I wonder if the errant B will reappear, maybe in a V post about a violin. Your imagination knows no bounds.

Who knows? I just hope it’s beehiving itself!
That’s what I call a whimsical flight of musical fancy.
My “P” song for the day:

I couldn’t put it better myself! Cheers.
How will they ever finish the song without B? F doesn’t sound too helpful either. Weekends In Maine
Song over I fear!.
You have to pick your repertoire carefully to go without a B.
Cute!
Black and White: S for Shangri-La
Indeed you do Anne! Thank you.
