Short stories featuring musical instruments and those who play them!
.

I know a guy who plays rock guitar. His name is Stuart but he calls himself Styler. That’s because his hero is Steven Tyler, but whereas the Aerosmith frontman plays stadiums, Stuart does his shrieking and strumming in back street boozers. He’s tried to get the look right. You know the kind of thing, wild hair, baggy shirts, and skinny jeans.
I was walking down a backstreet the other afternoon. It was very blustery. Stuart – sorry, Styler came strolling towards me leaning into the wind, one hand on his head.
“Hi Sty!’ said I.
I went to bump elbows the way we have to these days, and as he took his hand from his head, his mass of hair suddenly blew off and went tumbling down the street! I turned to see where it was heading (pardon the pun!) and saw it rushing back towards us with four little legs poking out the bottom! Just behind, an old fellow was tottering along yelling “Tinkerbelle, heel girl”
I don’t know what was funnier! Styler’s expression, his never-before-seen shiny bald head, the hapless dog owner, or the animated wig. Styler shot off in pursuit of his crowning glory.
I haven’t seen him since. I wonder if he got it back!

Heeheehee! That would be a sight to see.
exactly what I thought Mimi!
How empty for Sty! Haha! Thanks for the smiles
My pleasure Sadje.
🤩😂
For a moment I thought he had a dog on his head… there was an old Pepsi commercial where a guy had a Puli dog instead of dreadlocks 😀
The Multicolored Diary
I’ve not seen that, it sounds hilarious!
Hahaha, everything is in the “look” 😉 Poor Stuart, sorry, Styler 😉
Style over substance, that’s our Stu … sorry Styler!
Ha! I literally laughed out loud. I think I know that guy- or someone very much like him! Thanks for the giggle.
Here from A to Z. Visit me at http://theroadweveshared.com/blog where our theme is Down syndrome in the media.
I’d love to meet him! Cheers.
ha ha…That was hilarious…Poor Styler and for a minute I did imagine his wig developing legs or him having a dog on his head! There is a movie scene in an Indian movie where a lady;s wig comes off when somebody runs a vacuum cleaner near her 😀

Really, that sounds so funny! Thanks so much.
LOL. “Crowning glory.” I think I may be giggling over that off and on through the day. Another fun one!
Some wear gold and others wear jewels on their head, but his crown of preference is a wig! Thanks so much.
Hahaha – maybe time to embrace his baldness!

Absolutely, why not?
Love this post! The “animated wig”, haha, that is something I would love to see! Great post.

Me too! Thanks so much.
I’m expecting my upstairs neighbour to come down to find out what I’m laughing so hard at. Just wonderful, Keith!
Now you’ve got me laughing Jenne! You can blame it on me if they do!
Styler could do worse than choosing to imitate Steven Tyler considering the man’s success over the decades. Unfortunate that the wind claimed Sty’s crowning glory but I’m sure his guitar is still rocking.

G is for Green Flash at Sunset
I’m a great Steven Tyler fan myself – Styler’s got a lot to live up to and despite everything, I’m sure he’s still trying!
So funny Keith! Your story reminded me of a song by the B-52s:

My “G” Jethro Tull song is here:

This reminds me of those videos that make the rounds at Halloween with the little dog dressed up like a giant spider. You can’t see the dog but you see the scurrying spider costume. That’s what I picture, just the wig running down the street. So funny. Weekends In Maine
HEY!
I still have hair. I choose to shave my head (last June was brutal without being able to get a haircut).
Did you take a peek at my diary from back in the days? Singing in the alley always had good acoustics, until the cats yowled along.
I didn’t see your diary back then, so I might just seek it out! I bet it eas a bit of a cat-cophony!
Haha what a great twist! I think one of my first screen names was Styler something or other (big Aerosmith fan) but I can’t say I ever lost my hair like that!

I’m pleased to hear it Allison!
