Today’s redundant words :-
Melange – a mixture of different things.
Mellisonant – sweet sounding
Mulivious – go in different directions

I was lucky to get a ticket. Like gold dust they were. And here I am in one of the best seats in the concert hall.
Here comes the orchestra. Into the pit, they go.
I wonder why they call it a pit? Let’s google it. Pit. A place or situation of futility, misery, or degradation. Oo-err!
Look, look. They are shouldering their violins and moistening their trumpets. The man holding the stick is … actually, he’s blowing his nose, I hope he hasn’t got a cold poor fellow.
I better switch off my phone incase my ring tone is in the wrong key!
Here we go!

Oh, just listen. A melange of sounds, some mellisonant some rasping. My bumps have never been so goosed.
Mulivious notes fly, glide, swoop and dive… oooh, watch out!
It’s like I’ve died and gone to heaven, only I haven’t, and this is just the orchestra tuning up!
Now for the performance. Shhh.
This is so beautiful, so calming, so soothing, so …

Oh, everyone’s clapping! It’s finished. I must have fallen asleep and missed it. Oh phew.
Tomorrow’s word

Some classical music is so soothing it will put you to sleep after a good supper, which is a shame because it is so good you want to stay awake and enjoy.
… and don’t I know it! Cheers Mimi.
I used to have season tickets to the symphony here. There was a guy in front of me who would fall asleep. A friend of yours???
That was me!!!
Love your story!
I’m pleased, thanks Sadje.
You’re welcome
I like your story!
Thank so much!
Wake up and accept the encomiums for a well told tale.
I admit I had to look encomiums up in the dictionary, and having done so, I offer you my gracious thanks for you generous words Christine!
I had to look it up, too. For such an excellent effort this month no regular word would do. 😉
Hah sometimes it’s good to have a melange of snores and snoozes…snort! See ya!
I totally agree Kathe! See ya too!
Isn’t that the way it goes! I like your descriptions of watching the orchestra pit.
Isn’t it just! Thanks, Jade
You are welcome.
The music was so hypnotic that you fell asleep? Too bad …. !
We have a high end boutique on the road behind my house that’s called Melange so I see this word EVERYDAY.
What a great name for a shop!
All the best for the next 15, Keith. We miss you at #wordlesswednesday, but see you real soon in May.
Hope you are staying safe and wonderful. 🙂
Miss taking part in WW too Natasha, but the A2Z takes up all of my time in April!. All good here, trust it is with you and yours!
No sweat at all. We know how hectic it is with A-Z. Enjoy the journey.
All great here too!
Stay well.
Musical notes played lullaby maybe 😉 They do have claiming effect. Don’t they?
I remembered once I had gone to watch a late-night show of a movie with my husband. Those were the prized tickets as the box office declared the show as house-full just after us. Much to embarrassment of my husband, I was happily snoaring even before the interval. On the way back, I was fresh enough to pester my husband to narrate the story of the movie!
Oh gosh, how awkward! Something similar happened to me when I persuaded my brother to try opera and he snored during the quiet bits!
OMG! at the risk of sounding like the teens in Hannah Montana at my age, I will say it again–OMG! This was sooo funny.
The google definition and the goosing of the bumps–classic Keith.
Was Ha! Ha-ing all the way.
Arti, what can I say – except we clearly have a similar childish sense of humour? !! Cheers.
Mellisonant – what a great sounding word, not one I have heard before. Lovely story, made me smile. Hope you are safe and well.

Tasha’s Thinkings – Vampire Drabbles
It rolls off the tongue! I’m fine and dandy thanks Tasha, hope you are too,
lol, such a wonderful concert it was! 😉
I used to listen to western classical to sleep whenever I had migraine attacks. The notes are quite soft and beautiful.
It was – just shame she slept through it! I always listen to classical music when writing – I am now!
Hi Keith – I need to write in silence … occasionally put some music on – but mostly magnificent quietude. You’re finding and using some fun words – expanding our vocabulary … take care … Hilary
Magnificent quietude! What a lovey expression. Classical music is my muse. Stay safe Hilary.
I actually knew today’s words.
Love the way you made a melange of words for us to savor.
Cheers
Mom and Memory
Well done! Delighted you enjoyed it.
I was in your story, so beautifully said! (I even saw you falling asleep)
M is for Modern Quilts
You could have given me a nudge!
I often nod off into a half-sleep while at a symphony performance. It gets to a point where the only thing I’m conscious of is the music, so I think of it as kind of a compliment.
It can carry your conciseness to a different plain, and I tend to agree with you.
Haha Keith. But don’t worry I hear you. Not our fault really. That’s how we were lulled to sleep as babies!
PS: My mom is a classical singer😀😀
We were indeed!. One of my biggest regrets is that I didn’t train to become a tenor. The closest I got was singing Barbers Shop.
I would never fall asleep during a concert, but I do agree that there is something absolutely magical about the sounds of the orchestra warming up and tuning. It gooses my bumps for sure!
Black and White (Words and Pictures)
There is. It sort of creates an atmosphere and an air of excitement.
Haha, the description of the pit got me!

It really was straight from a dictionary! Cheers
HAAHAAA! Thanks for the laugh! My bumps are goosed now!
(and I think my blog posts are a melange and mulivious.)
I hope your bumps make a full recovery. I tend to agree on your posts and they are all the better for it!
Aah! Sometimes music helps to catch the much needed Zzzs! 😀
Doesn’t it just? Cheers Shilpa.
Classical music is my go to for relaxation. You captured the orchestra well. This was a fun read.
Me too, I find it inspiring. Pleased you liked it Suzy.
At least there weren’t any rustling sweet wrappers to wake you up!
That’s true! Cheers.
Lol! I would have fallen asleep too. This was really good and I got two of them this time around! 😀
You are doing well! So pleased you liked it Shweta.
