I was talking to my friend Rosey on the phone the other day when she suddenly squeaked then said “Look at the time”. I looked at the time and said “I’m looking at the time, what about it?” She said, “It’s twenty to eleven and past my bedtime!” It was five minutes to eight!
When the clocks go forward it takes her ages to adjust. For days she claims she’s suffering jet lag!
Last March she wound the hands back an hour instead of forward and met me for lunch two hours late.
As for the 24-hour clock on her phone…

Ha ha – Rosey strikes again! If they do away with daylight saving in Europe, maybe the UK will follow suit and save her a lot of pain.

It is currenrly under discussion. but knowing Rosey she’ll start adjusting the time when everyone else has stopped!
Dear Keith,
Daylight savings time can get a bit confusing. Particularly here where Arizona and Hawaii don’t ascribe to hit. Throws the whole internal clock off kilter. Cute story.
Shalom,
Rochelle
But in Arizona the National Parks and the reservations do have daylight savings time… it can be very confusing…
I can imagine!
That must be confusing. Thank goodness Rosey doesn’t have to cope with that!
Funny stuff Keith
Pleased to have amused you! And thanks for the pic.
Always nice to hear from Rosey. It would not be right if she didn’t have trouble keeping time, it’s such a Rosey thing to do.
Indeed it is! Thanks Iain.
If you have a good wall clock, why look at the cheap digital clock of phone?
She’d probably hang it upside down!
I’d have never known how late she was. The rule is after 15 minutes….
Ah, the 15 minute rule! Cheers Alice.
Changing the time is so confusing, especially if you are totally arithmetically dim as I am. I count on my fingers and still can’t work it out. Poor Rosey!
Oh dear! YUou two would get on well!
love the humor and light playful vibe part of your trademark…
Thanks so much Prior
and quick question:
It five
should it be
it’s
Thanks Prior
and you must have starved at your lunch-time…..

Too right! Thanks Kalpana
Ha.. it’s complicated really… the 24 hour clocks are easier actually .
Personally, I agree! Cheers Bjorn.
Yaaaayyyyy, Rosey’s back!
She’s never far away!
Poor Rosey, life is so confusing.
…and doesn’t she know it!
Time to let her go, with the antique clock 🙂
Not sure she’d want that!
tick tock tock. rosey strikes the clock.. 🙂
Indeed she does! Thank you.
Hi Keith – I’m struggling here to remember I’m almost at the end of the time-clock line … so can imagine Rosey and many like her becoming completely befuddled with the time change – especially when you write about it – when it’s still six or seven weeks away! Cheers Hilary
Haha! I’ll send you a reminder next month Jilary!
Excellent … Jilary will love it – I’ll try and find her in the month to come!!
Whoopsie!
A delightful story! Thanks for an evening smile.
The pleasure’s mine! Thank you.
Rosey seems like an interesting person. My father is always late everywhere we end up telling him the wrong time sometimes when its something important haha. I love people like that, always late, but always a joy to have around.. when they get there haha!
Your father sounds quite a character! He and Rosey would get on well!
Well, i agree with Rosey, jet lag is a great term for how you feel after the time changes!
Me too! Cheers Mimi
This is the first time I am meeting Rosie, and I like her. I like people for their eccentricities and she is definitely up there. Good one, Keith.
She is quite a character! Cheers Anshu
I’m with Rosey, time is so confusing…
Ill pass on your comment to her!
With friends like Rosey, who needs any more friends!
Absolutely right Kelvin
Your friend Rosie sounds sweet but scatty!
She’s kept me and her followers amused for many a year! Cheers Liz
well, two hours are nothing. i’m sure she’s worth the wait. 🙂
errr…I’ll pass on that!
Very funny, made me chuckle
I’m pleased! Thanks so much.
Fun one, Keith. Poor Rosey… Smiling.
Delighted to have amused you Dale
Poor Rosey. If anyone needed a digital home assistant to actually read the time out loud, it’s her!
That’s her Christmas present problem solved!
Keith, you have to love Rosey. Being perfect is over-rated and people feel much more comfortable with a battler. Vive les Rosies!
Best wishes,
Rowena
Well said Rowena!
Thanks very much, Keith.
Rosey seems like a very interesting lady. A fun read 🙂
Interesting is one way to describe her!
Rosey! I’ve missed Rosey. Love the story.
I really must write a few more – I miss her too! Cheers Sascha
Ha Time change challenged, I know the feeling. Cute story.
I’m sure we’ve all made a mistake at one time or another!
Rosey’s a great character. Great piece.
Thanks so much. She does have quite a following!
Rosey is very eccentric and likable! Well-done! =)
She’s kept me amused on my blog for ten years! Cheers Brenda
Poor Rosey ! I feel she rather enjoys being confused about time changes ?
If she weasn’t confused sh’d think something was wrong!
Really, Rosie? I have to admit, I didn’t turn my car clock in either direction. Used to drive my kids crazy when they were little. It was always a good way to start a conversation. So, I’m with you, Rosie.
So it’s not just me! I’m not even sure how to alter the clock in my car!
Oh dear! Hilarious. Poor thing
I used to feel sorry for her once! Cheers Laurie
It’s lovely to see Rosey again. Poor thing, she should see the clock in my car. Someone mixed up the spring forward and fall back… and now it’s two hours late, or just one. We’re too lazy to set it right and in a way it’s fun. Please write more Rosey. 🙂
Some clocks have a mind of their own! More Rosey on its way
I love Rosey!
We have a lot in common. 😉
Really! I thought one was enough!
LOL
