‘Ready or not, here I come!’ shouted Maisie.
Ben crouched in a corner. It was dark, even if she came close she’d never see him.
Maisie slowly crept up the steps. ‘I know you’re up here Ben’.
A spider crawled across a cobweb inches from Ben’s cheek. He hated spiders but didn’t dare sweep it aside for fear of making a sound.
He peered around the pillar. There she was, walking away, not towards him. He breathed a sigh of relief.
Maisie climbed down the steps, looked here, looked there, looked everywhere. ‘I’ll find you, Ben’, she shouted as she wandered in and out of view.
It was quiet. He hadn’t heard her footsteps for ages. She’d given up! A smile spread across his face.
‘Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep…’ he sang, his voice echoing around the building.
‘Wrong’, she shouted in his ear.

‘Up here’ yelled the cop. ‘We’re too late, she’s beaten us again’.

In a bar across town, Maisie sipped a Martini. Another assignment successfully carried out.
