I did it! I went trekking in the mountains. I couldn’t wait to tell my friends all about it. I arranged to meet them in the pub.
“It was quite tiring but so worth the effort”, I said.
“Of course it was”, said Colin, “because you don’t everest!”
I politely laughed then carried on. ”It was very quiet, I hardly heard a sound. As I walked through a valley I couldn’t resist having a quick yodel, you should have heard it echo!”
“How do mountains hear?” asked Colin, “with mountaineers!”
“I smiled then continued, ”I spent my nights in a little tent. One morning I awoke to find an owl sitting on a nearby rock, I really wasn’t expecting that1”
“It probably spent its nights in a hootel”, quipped Colin.
“Why do you keep butting in with silly jokes?”, I said.
“Because mountains are hill areas!”, he replied.
I was becoming extremely frustrated. “You are like a volcano”, I told him.
“Why?”, he asked.
”Because you keep interrupting”.
He was the only one of us that didn’t laugh!
