Here comes Bob. His name’s actually Robert but he has trouble pronouncing his R’s, and Wobert sounds a bit odd!

I’ve known him since our school days. We were in a sweet shop once and he pointed to the bars of chocolate and asked for one. The assistant showed him a bar of dark chockie and asked if it was the one he wanted. Bob said ‘wight’ meaning right, but the guy misunderstood him and changed for a bar of the white stuff!

He still laughs about the time he went to a speech therapist. He said, ‘I’m having twouble with my R’s, and the therapist said, ‘you need to see a doctor not me’!

He’s great at playing Scwabble. For some reason, he always gets the W tiles and never the R’s, but he doesn’t seem to mind because W’s are worth four times as much! His score spiwals up as yours stands still.

He’s someone worth knowing, an impressive guy. Tall, handsome, polite, generous, not a care in the world. He’s impossible to wind up and has a handshake as firm as a vice. My hand’s still wounded from the last time we met!

He’s getting married to the love of his life soon. The only problem is, her name’s Ruby. They’ll probably become known as Bob and Booby!
