I was in the park. Trees were dancing, round and round. It was hot, so hot. It was snowing too, not ordinary snow, more like pink popcorn.
There was a puddle, the water every colour of the rainbow. A maidmer sat in the middle, a fishes head, silky legs and brightly painted toenails.
A woman clutching a bunch of multicoloured balloons floated towards me. A purple bird swooped down and burst them, pop-pop-pop.
I said hello and she went pop too. The bird stuck out its tongue and flew up to the blue moon.
I really shouldn’t have eaten that cake.

Wow well done, brilliant color imagery perfectly presented in your story, Keith. Love the fanciful color font and the prompt photo!
When I saw the cake I couln’t resist adding some more colour!
Hmmm. I wonder what my instructor would have said had I decorated a cake like that in my class. And I wonder what was added to the cake batter. Love the story.
I can only imagine! Thanks, Denise.
There was something in that icing 🤣
No doubt!
😜😜😜
Such a colourful post! Enjoyed the story. I should collect all your story for my little grand niece.
What a lovely thing to say!
I once wrote a collection of storioes for children, if you’re interested, it’s here! https://keithskids.blogspot.com/
Your words are as brilliant and kitschy as the colours of the icing!
Whatever was in that cake/icing, I too want it so that I can write like this!
Haha, I’ll send you the recipe, Punam! Thank you so much.
Done! You are very welcome, Keith.
I am getting the impression someone dosed your cake! Happy trails! hehehehe
Me too, Jodi!
Keith, I love the trip you took us on. I imagine it would be just like that.
🎶Those were the days my friend…. Thanks, Lisa!
You’re welcome <3
Drugs.
Oh yes!
Dear Keith,
One pill makes you larger and one pill makes you small…I couldn’t help but hear Gracie Slick singing your story. 😉 Very colorful and fun.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Psychedelic Slick! Thanks for your delightful comment, Rochelle.
Dizzying! I kept waiting for Richard Harris to burst into song!
That would be fitting!
I especially enjoyed the maidmer
I thought she was quite attractive!
How groovy!
Yeah man!
yellow submarine cake
It was certainly the right era!
I see our cakes were made by the same baker. Great story, Keith.
What a coincidence!
lovely colours…
Thanks, Nandini, given the picture I thought it would make a change from monochrome!
You should get together with everyone else who had a piece, and compare your travels. 😉
Now that would be fun!
whoa- that was some tainted cake! – and nice job with the zany use of colors and humor
It sure was, thanks, Yvette!
LOL, probably not, but it sounds delicious. 🙂
I’m sure it was lovely beneath the surface!
Hilarious, too much sugar sprinkled over your food these days. Avoid the colour coated candy it’s an American trap.

I’ll follow your advice, James!
A 🌈stupendous psychedelic story Keith – hope you enjoyed your trip 😅
Great at the time, not so great the next morning!
Pretty sure it was laced, but have a nice trip!
No doubt about it!
Great imagination ~ creative post ~ thanks,
Thanks for your kind words.
You describe the psychedelic era so well, drugs included! Colorful descriptions, Keith. 🙂
Those were the days! Thanks, Brenda.
Tee-hee! That was a giggle or two… and more!
I’m pleased to hear it – even though I couldn’t!
Fantastic! I also loved the maidmer.
Thank you. I thought there must be a lot of discarded fish heads and girls legs out there going spare, so why not put them to good use?
just reading your story has already made me feel high. i didn’t even need substances. your imagination did all the heavy lifting and took my brain on a very unexpected little joyride. 🙂
