…a converation we had whilst sitting beside the pool – that’s my excuse for taking liberties with the picture prompt and swapping the pool for a beach!
.
I told my friend Rosey there was an article in the newspaper about a chap that tried swimming from England to France. Two-thirds of the way he became very tired, so he turned back!
She said that was daft, he should have kept going.
I said I was joking, and she said I shouldn’t joke about something Iike that, he could have drowned..
I said, it didn’t actually happen, so she asked me why it was in the paper!
There is only way to get her to change direction.
Me. Another drink?
Rosey. A large Chardonnay please.

Those of you that have been in our blooging circle for many years may remember that I used to write lots of stories about My Friend Rosey, well over a hundred infact! I even self published a book that went down quite well. It’s out of print now though.
I moved about forty of my favourite yarns to a site of its own – it’s HERE if you’re interested!

Thanks once again to Rochelle for hosting Friday Fictioneers

How nice to see Rosey again. I’ve missed her. And thanks for the link!
I’m sure she’s missed to too Denise!
A woman who knows where her priorities lie
That’s Rosey!
Offer of a drink🍹 – works every time 😄
Solves every problem where Rosey’s concerned!
😊
C.E. there are plenty of male Roseys out there. Watch any Laurel & Hardy or Three Stooges skits.
Sorry, Lisa or Li, they’re before my time.
But I’ll ask Keith about them!
🙂
Very much so, CE, and not any ordinary woman!
Keith, it feels just like a real conversation, and it made me smile. Alcohol cures what ails you 9 times out of 10.
Congratulations on the Rosey blog. Thanks for making her stories available to us <3
Indeed it does, Lisa!
I’ll be adding more Rosey tales to the site soon!
Awesome 🙂
At least you do know how to close the topic!
It works every time!
Dear Keith,
There’s logic and then there’s “Rosey logic.” Fun stuff.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Perfectly put, Rochelle, thank you!
Sounds like that conversation could have gone a long time if it wasn’t for the chardonnay punctuation. Great story. I enjoyed it.

Thank goodness for the 100 word limit! Cheers, David.
way to distract
Works every time! Thanks, Beth.
I like Rosey. A very down to earth character.
Me too, Sadje, she’s one of a kind!
Exactly
Great job at distracting her.
Expensive but worth it! Thanks, Berndette.
How lovely to see your friend Rosey again. Ya gotta love the friends so easy to distract… 😉
I thought it was time to see what she was up to! Nothing’s changed!
And glad we are that you did!
i don’t know what she saw in you, but it must be something positive that makes you worth keeping. buying her a drink helps too. 🙂
She does take advantage of my generocity!
Well, well. Rosey knows how this game works, a logical tease is rewarded with a bottle of wine. I notice she keeps winking at me, how many drinks has she had?
I think she’s got the hots for you, James!
Rosey is a fun character and you write so well ~ thanks,
clever way to close the topic…
I think we all have at least one Rosey in our lives – and we couldn’t do without them really!
I did not realize how much I missed Rosie until I saw her smiling face here today! So nice to see her again- well, you too! hehehe
Cheers!
