“You think more of your guitars than you do of me”, she shouted. He carried on humming and strumming.
His passion for singing and writing music had become extreme, the reason for their marital discord.
She could take no more, she was tired of being his second string.
In a flash of rage she struck him with not just one, but two his precious instuments. It was fatal.
She buried him in the garden hoping the songwriter would decompose, but the cops found his body.
“First offender?”, asked the judge.
“No, M’lud”, said the lawyer, “first the Gibson then the Fender”.

Well a tragic tale indeed, Keith. Great musical puns in your tale of marital “discord.”
I know, so sad!!!
Ooooo. Pricey! Had to laugh after watching this last night. https://www.pbs.org/video/appraisal-1934-martin-000-18-guitar-jpliqc/
Hope you can view it.
Oh no! It’s not available here, now I’m intrigued!
$30,000 – $35,000 .
Wow, that really is pricey!
I liked the “second string” quip
Thanks, Neil, she was feeling highly strung!
Technically, she was probably playing 7th string in his life…or the 13th, or the 19th…Sad that his life had to end this way. Wonder what ‘note’ it ended on. Loved reading this 🙂 Do drop by mine.Cheers,CRDscriptedinsanity blogspot com
I bow to your superior knowledge! Sadly, we’ll never know.
Unfortunately I couldn’t get any response from your link.
Oh my goodness, hahaha…it’s fortunate I knew just enough about guitars for this one!
I was hoping I wouldn’t baffle too many people by using guitar names!
I had recently watched an older, very good movie in which guitars were mentioned…somehow the brief mention stuck in my old brain, surprise!
So funny, Keith! I bet there are a lot of partners of guitarists who dream about doing the same.
Of that I have no doubt! Thanks, Lisa.
You’re very welcome.
hahahahahaha!
😂😂😂
Haha. So funny Keith.
Thanks, Di!
Nice pun!
Any excuse and I’ll find one!
I do all that also
Really? !!!
Ha ha ha. Very funny story. Shame he couldn’t de-Fend(er) himself!!
Nice one!!!
Hahaha! Nicely done, Keith. The puns are well placed 😊🎸🎶🎵
Thanks, delighted to have amused you!
Dear Keith,
This makes me laugh out loud. A punorama of a story. 😀 Sometimes I could be that wife. 😉 (the photo prompt is merely three of my husband’s nine guitars).
Shalom,
Rochelle
Nine guitars? Now why doesn’t that surprise me?
All the references to music: second string, fender, made me laugh. Loved this!!!!
I’m pleased, thanks, Alicia!
Oops
Very oopsie!
😅
I couldn’t help it…that last line made me giggle lol
I hoped it might!
*sorry for the delay in responding – your comment somehow ended up in my spam folder!
🤣That ending made me laugh Keith so good 🙌
Just what I hoped for! Thanks, Ange.

Awww, what a lovely comment, Nancy, thank you.

Thanks so much – I try!
Haha, just funny… and those guitars!
Thanks, Chris, I wish they were mine!
