Let me read it to you!

.

I ring his doorbell. Mine goes ping, his boings like Big Ben!

“Welcome to my humble abode”, he says. He always does. If this is humble, I don’t know what mine is!

“Tea on the terrace”, he says. His wife pours earls-grey from a fancy tea pot into delicate porcelain cups perched on pretty little saucers.

I have trouble holding those silly things. I’m used to chunky mugs of builder’s brew.

“Finger sandwiches, scones with strawberry preserve and cream”, he says.

What’s wrong with crusty rolls and lumps of cake for goodness sake?

How we two are twin brothers I’ll never know!

Funny how that often happens. Could be the wife’s influence, though… 😉

Keith, I love your surprise ending. I was wondering how these two would be connected. I have a brother like that but we are not twins.

You are right, Keith, those dainty tea cups I seein store windows hardly measure up to a comfortable mug of earl grey. Nicely done story. Love the graphic with the frogs and the cups.

This was well done and I think I liked the humble brother with the ping for a doorbell

There’s nothing wrong with mis-matching, I do it all the time!

So pleased you liked it, Nancy, thank you.

I know of twins who do things to intentionally be different, probably since they have been lumped in together their whole lives. Great ending to the story. A very satisfying place to end it.

    Dear Keith,

How different we all are, even the closest of womb mates. Loved this one.

    Shalom,

I used to blame things on my wife – which is one of the reasons I’m single now!

This one made me smile. And i am the twin has been brainwashed by his wife. And we all know, it’s always her fault.
