Samuel Smith, did you or did you not dispose of the broken vase in the hope your crime would not be detected?

Samuel, you were spotted on the video door bell footage entering the house with a bunch of flowers, can you tell me what became of them?

Right. You took a vase from the cupboard then smashed it, did you not?

Mr. Smith, the broken vase was discovered in the trash bin, there are traces of blood on it.

Let’s look at the facts. You waited until the kitchen was unoccupied. You took a vase from the cupboard. You smashed it. After committing the crime of which you are accused you hid the vase in the hope it would not be discovered. Yes or no?

Samuel, you are doing yourself no favours. You had the means, the opportunity and the motif.

Okay Mary, I did it! I wanted to surprise you with some flowers but I accidentally broke the vase and cut my finger. I‘ve hidden the flowers in the garage until tomorrow when I intend buying a new vase to replace the one I smashed, now will you please shut up and let me watch Law and Order, we are just getting to the verdict!

This was good. BTW, on the last Law and Order here in the States, the verdict was….???

The show ended without one…… Not sure how I would have voted though.

Seems Mary had poor Samuel’s number from the very start, Keith!

    Entertaining as ever.

Fun story, Keith, but maybe not so much for Sam.
    A good twist too.

    SOL*

excellent sharp-angle close to the story… we were like, ok, ok… we’re being set up… where’s the surprise and…we walked right into it lulled by the implied reasonable narration of italic’d final paragraph

    fun

Whenever I get to a Keith story I start to smile before I even read the title. Sometimes the smile stays as a regular smile and other times, like with this story, it turns into a big smile.
