The world record for solving the Rubie Dubie Cubie is three point one-three seconds according to Googlie. I’d be lucky to do it three point one-three days. Nimble fingerdness is not a quality I possess. In fact I’m pretty clumsy. Whenever I try Rubiking, the wretched thing leaps out of my hand and lands on the floor. One even fell to pieces when it landed the other day.
You are probably expecting me to get all philosophical now, and start comparing my Rubikoidal failings to my life, a life wherein everything I try fails to succeed.
Well actually you are right. My life is like a jigsaw with a missing piece, a Lego city that looks like it’s suffered an earthquake, a pack of cards with more Jokers than Kings, a – well you get the picture. At least you would If I hadn’t dropped it on the floor when I was trying to hang it up yesterday. Broken glass everywhere, a bit like my shattered dreams.
Blimey, listen to me going on! Please dont think I’m trying to gain your sympathy, although just a little wouldn’t go amiss. Suffice to say, I’ll keep seizing every opportunity that life throws at me, even if most of them do bonk me on the head. For I’m a fighter not a twitter, sorry quitter.
Must dash, I’m playing darts at the pub tonight, you should come along! People begin to leave when I pick them up. I can’t figure it out. Perhaps they’re worried I’ll beat them – or puncture them! Anyway, wish me luck!

Ahahahaha, LOL!! Well done Keith. You had me laughing from “Rubie Dubie Cubie” All the best with the darts at the pub tonight, hopefully no on will be darting for cover at your skills.
Thanks Suzette, I’ll be aiming for a 180!
Awesome! Good on yah!
Hahahahaha!
Thanks, Beth!
Very funny! Thanks for the laugh!
My pleasure, thank you!
This is just brilliant Keith. You have such a delightful way with words. Loved your story. Best of luck with darts 🎯. Thanks for joining in.
What a lovely thing to say, thank you,Sadje.,
You’re most welcome 🙏🏼
My nephew could do it in seconds. So could I, once I’d taken all the coloured squares off!
That’s one way to do it I guess! My grandson can do it in 11 seconds.
It was funny, I could do the Instant Insanity cubes from years ago, but never mastered this. My nephew was probably as fast. I haven’t seen him in 34 years so have no idea.
I can sympathize with the Cube; I’ve never got more than one side in order. Also, we must deal with a very complicated language–English being the wurst to spell. Seize and Siege for example. No accounting for it. 😉
I’ve never managed to complete one! I think I’m allowed a misspelling now and again, it keeps my readers on there, sorry, their toes! The I before E rule often gets reversed as I should know, my name being Keith!
Haha! This is brilliant Keith. I could imagine your MC as the old owner of a toy story chatting to a customer buying a Rubix Cube in his slightly confused way. You’re amazing with these stories.
Yes, that would work! Thanks so much for your kind words, Mason.
You’re most welcome.
a dun repsonse , Keith.. 😂
Hilarious read. Enjoyed the story.
