For Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers photo prompt.

.
I suggested we have a drink. That’s all, just a drink. I wanted nothing more, except some peanuts to nibble on of course. The next day she invited me for a drink. If she’s paying, why not I thought!
That evening something unexpected happened. It wasn’t just nuts I fancied nibbling. No, suddenly she became the light of my life!
We had a few dates; the only ones I’d previously had were those sticky things you eat.
Our romance didn’t last. The light went out like a candle in the wind.
Which reminds me, my torch needs a new battery.

Prod Froggie to see the squares!

How do you come up with these fabulous storylines, Keith. Well done. At least the dates (Midgjool etched) are sweet experiences.
You say the kindest things Suzette – you’ve even taught me a new word, midgjool!
You are very welcome Keith, truly! Cheers. Happy Saturday!! P.S. My apologies I misspelled the name of the dates it is “medjool”
Haha! Excellent puns Keith

This made me laugh! Great use of the prompt!
Too funny. I love the light theme and the puns with it. Let’s hope the next battery set will be longer-lasting.
