Pics!

For Wordless Wednesday and bloghops various!

.

Nine miles along the coast from me on the outskirts of Eastbourne is Sovereign Harbour, northern Europe’s largest marina complex. There are five linked harbours, and I took a walk around a couple of them yesterday. Here are some pictures in the order I took them!

Ooh I love all of these photos Keith, I was trying to pick a favorite but lost track. I marvel at the excellent details you capture in your pics! Love the beautiful blue skies in them. It looks like it was a beautiful day. I was intrigued by Kraken Rib Tours… what a name for a boat ride/tour…I have visions of a sea monster or some such ilk! Wonderful share. Thank you Keith.

Ah! Heaven on earth, Keith. This is definitely my kind of place. We’re near the water, less than 1/4 mile, but there’s nothing like living right on the water or having a water view. BTW, Bill is interested in the boat that’s for sale so put in a good word for us, ok? 😂

I love living a few steps from the sea, I can’t imagine being landlocked again. That boat is up for £159,000 – not sure what that is in dollars but it ain’t cheap!

You know how I love boats and being out on the water. I’m not sure if you know, but we sold both our boats and are not boat free. It’s time for us to move on. We’re happy with this decision.

Thank you for hosting the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Keith. 🙂

We are happy indeed. Our bodies told us it was time to let the boats go. A new chapter in our lives. 🙂

Hi Keith – hardly went there when I had a car, before it was as developed as it is now … and really should, next year, probably get there and spend sometime walking around … I’ve got friends who’ve got a boat there – sold now and one being restored at their home … amazing and you picked a good day – love the pics … thanks – Hilary

Whenever I’m there, my mind my mind goes back to my youth and the wonderful times we had on the Crumbles beach as it was before the harbour appeared. Family and friends sitting aound a fire in the hollowed out stones, everyone singing along as I strummed my guitar! Happy days!

    That’s a lot of boats! 🙂

I do particularly like the concrete channel with the lock to change the water elevation. It’s a fascinating system. (I’ve seen locks in canals and harbours here, too.)

That’s just one small part! The harbour entrance with its lock gates is fascinating to watch.
