for Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers on a Wednesday!

I blame it on my shoes. I think I’m going to one place, then find myself in another.
I was drinking a pint in the pub yesterday when it suddenly dawned on me I’d intended going to the coffee bar.
I thought I’d pick up some groceries on the way home, but when I got here, my shopping bag contained some socks and a jumper. I don’t even need them.
Just now I fancied going for a stroll, but I couldn’t because one of my shoes was missing. It still is.
It’s probably gone for a walk on its own.

Of COURSE you meant to go to the coffee bar… honest mistake.

This is such a hilarious story of how a person can do something else when they were going to do something else.

Dear Keith,
One must be very careful of one’s shoes. You never know when they’ll take off on their own. (likely story 😉 ) Love your story. Happy birthday.

Shoes do whatever they choose, even those you tend to lose!
Thanks so much Rochelle, where do the years go?

All that stuff we can blame on our age – nothing to do with choice at all. Ahem.

This story is me walking into the kitchen and standing for a full 10 seconds wondering what the hell I’m doing there.
I am 44. I shouldn’t be this way.

I love how you recreated the shoe from the one in the pic. I’ll have to remember that one next time I do something reckless (later today probably.) Blame it on the shoes! 🙂 Great story, Keith.

Loved this, Keith. The story of my life, except someone else is often reprogramming my day. My kids do a pretty good job of it even though they’re now young adults, and knowing they’ll probably leave the nest…well, maybe sometime in the next decade…I should make the most of my time with them and I’m grateful to be friends with their friends. That’s what comes with 3.00am pick ups from the station and saving them an uber and being involved in their lives.
Hope you have a great week!
Best wishes,
Rowena

Entertaining story as always, Keith, and sounds like a familiar day to some of mine. I’ll remember to blame the shoes next time. Love the shoe and frog photo you created!
