She wasn’t a drinker, so when she left the bar worse-for-wear I was somewhat concerned. She walked towards the bridge. I knew what she intended doing, but I didn’t try stopping her. After all, she’d led a miserable existence.
They never found her. They assumed she was swept down river and into the ocean.
That’s what I tell people. The truth?

Yes, she stood on the bridge, and as crowded bus passed, she jumped. But I was below, waiting to drag her from the water.
She has a new life far away now.
But you didn’t hear it from me.

Rock Froggie’s boat to see the squares!

Hooray a happy ending 💃
Yeah! Happy ever after!
Did he provide her with the wherewithal for the new life too?
I’m sure he did!
A nice ending Keith
Thanks, Sadje!
Well done Keith, both story and its message.
Thank you, Suzette!
I feared for a sad ending, but relief all round!
I thought it would make a change! Cheers, Iain.
Nice one Keith
Thanks, Di!
Good catch! Great tale.
Thanks so much, Christine!
Intense!
Just a bit!!
Now that is a kind-hearted soul. Hope she is happy wherever she is…
I’d like to think so!
Then she is!
Sometimes you just need a totally fresh start, I’m glad someone helped her get one.
Worth getting wet for!
I totally Love this!
I’m pleased, thank you!
You’re most welcome!
Well that took a turn for the better. Loved it!
I’m pleased! Thanks so much, Sandra.
Thanks too for providing this week’s insprational picture.
Oh I’m so glad this had such a great ending. What a hero. I love this.
Indeed he was! Thanks, Margaret.
That’s one way to be a hero! I hope she appreciates her happy ending 🙂
If her previous life was as miserable as I imagined, I’m sure she does!
A true hero – and a well-rounded story in so few words.
Thanks Liz, it was a bit of a challenge!
what a good samaritan. did she give her pocket money too. that would be nice. :)
Of that, I have no doubt! Cheers plaridel.
I’m not sure if this is a happy ending or not. I’m leaning toward knight in shining armor to the rescue but can’t help thinking about our heroine with the miserable existence chained up in the basement of some looney stalker guy.
I had in mind the former – but now you’ve got me wondering!
Glad the narrator helped her. I hope things go better in her new life.
Things can only get better!
Oh! Hooray for the MC! I hope she has a MUCH better life now.
My thoughts too!
Whew, I loved the happy ending. So well done, Keith!
I’m pleased! Thanks, Brenda.
Keith, I love where you took this. I hope he is there with her, in an idyllic place in the sun.
I’d like to think so! Thanks, Lisa.
You’re most welcome.
Dear Keith,
A happy ending with a lot of room for a longer story. Well told.
Shalom,
Rochelle
I wonder! Thanks so much, Rochelle.
Yes, a happy ending, as the others have said.
I think a fresh start might be what she needs.
I’m glad she survived so she can live it.
A well-needed reboot! Thanks, Isadora.
You’re welcome 😎
A good guy! I hope. Very interesting premise.
He is, I promise!
To be honest, I was expecting she was in his basement. I’m still not sure she is not.
Fear not, Dawn, I’m told she’s fine!
A sweet story, sometimes we need a new start.
I’d like to think she’s off to somewhere sunny and living her best life…but you didn’t hear it from me either 😉
