It was the morning after the New Year’s Eve festivities at The Baaamy Inn, and four of last night’s revellers arrived hoping that a hair or two of the dog would help them get over their hangovers; Terry was tired, Albert’s head ached, Suzie still looked sloshed and Kate seemed konfused (literary licence!)
The placed was an utter mess, neither Landlord Leonard nor barmaid Flirty Flossy had done a thing clear up, it remained exactly as it when the merrymakers tumbled out of the door twelve hours previosly.
“I have a task for you all” said Leonard, “the drinks are on me if you help sort the place out” ; Terry looked at Albert, Suzie looked at Kate and they nodded as one – Albert wishing he hadn’t as it made his throbbing head throb even more.
“Terry, you’ll tidy that lot, Albert , the ashes in the fireplace need getting rid of, Suzie can sweep the carpet and Kate can klean (literary licence!) over there, up here, around that and behind them”.
Considering their fragility they did a pretty good job, and in no time at all they were ready for their complimentary drinks; Terry’s tankard of beer, Alberts ale, Susie’s Savigon Plonk (her words, not mine) and Kate’s kocktail (literary licence!) were downed in no time at all, so Terry ordered another round, “that’ll be seventeen pounds eighty” said Landlord Leonard.
“You said free drinksh plural, not a free drink singulaaah” slurred Suzie, “that’s right”, replied Leonard, “one for Terry, one for Albert, one for you Susie and one for Kate, that’s four drinks!”

Nice assignment of tasks, drinks and hangover status by alliteration.

Thanks, Frank. It was a bit of a task trying to find names, jobs and drinks with first letters that spelt out the prompt word, TASK!

All that alliteration went deeper than I realized. Well done!

I’ve actually seen Kate spelled “Cate,” although I don’t fancy it myself. I do enjoy your fun stories!

Absolutely fantastic! I loved the alliteration, the acrostic, and the konsistent use of literary license.
