Let me read it to you!

Several years ago, he’d given her a leopard print dress, but she never liked it; it was short, too short, with a plunging neckline and  bare back, tarty, nasty, and though it cost a small fortune, wearing it would have made her feel cheap.

When he brought it home she daren’t say how she felt, but something in her face told him what she was thinking and he went into a sulk for days; strangely, he never insisted she wear it, nor ever spoke of it again.

She was looking forward to the party, a crowd of friends from her gym had organised an animal theme fancy dress ball and she’d found a fabulous cat mask complete with golden whiskers which complimented her tumbling blonde locks, and that old leopard print dress was just what she needed to complete her outfit!

When big day arrived she placed it out on her bed, filled a bath with foaming water and laid back with a glass of champagne in her hand, and a beam on her face; the only sound, the popping of bubbles, she’d not felt this calm for years.

A bang, she sat bolt upright; ‘don’t be alarmed’ she thought, something must have rolled onto the floor, her kitten probably walked across the dressing table and knocked something over, after all, she’d locked herself in, there was nobody else there … but the magic was gone.

She went to her bedroom and was suddenly filled with terror, someone had been there for the dress was gone, and in its place was her kitten’s crystal collar.

    Good point that expensive clothes can made one look cheap. It looks like he took both the dress and the cat. Thankfully he left the cat’s crystal collar to go with the cat mask.

    He never left, of course, and he’s watching her so closely he knows her plans. I’m sure he believes if she’s going to wear that dress, it needs to be for him and no one else.

    Backtracking from episode 1 because I knew I’d missed this one. Of all scenes to miss! What an ending, Keith! Too many horror films under my belt. Went immediately to the most obvious (and worst thing conclusion. (best left unsaid, lol)
    Enjoying this tale of obsession. Hoping for a “happy” ending, of course 😉
