A repeat performance!

.

You may (or may not) have noticed that I’ve been awol for a few days. Family commitments, of the most sociable kind, have taken over much of my time!

I prefer not to repeat stories I’ve previously used, but rather than miss out on this week’s Friday Fictioneers, I’m using a reworked piece that may (or may not) be familiar to you!

“Knock-knock”.

“Who’s there?”

“Disguise”

“Disguise who?”

“Disguise in love with you!

John got home later than Lea. They went through their knock-knock routine every evening.

The following day.

“Knock-knock”.

“Who’s there and why the funny voice?”  Lea giggled.

“Disguise”.

“Stop it, John, you are scaring me”.

Lea opened the door, just a little.

“I said I’d find you, Lea”.

“What the hell do you want Mike?”

“Stupid question Lea. I’m collecting what’s mine”.

Twenty minutes later.

“Knock-knock”.

Nothing.

“Knock-knock”.

“Lea, open the door, sweetheart”.

Still nothing.

John used his key to open the door.

Lea was nowhere to be seen.

Good one, Keith. Going to have to share this one with my hubby. he likes to tell old “hokie” jokes first thing in the morning when I’m half asleep just to see if i hear him. LOL! Have a great week!

    Dear Keith,

Nothing wrong with reruns. It is summer after all. I understand about family commitments. We’re coming up on a stretch of them, too. Ominous ending to your story.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

Nice one, Keith! The foreboding of events to come well camouflaged in the “knock knock” humor. I did see the ending coming!

Poor John. He’ll be the #1 suspect. The spouse always is, right.
Great opening scene. Now write the book — when you have time. 😉

He could well be, but I’ll come to his defence! Me? A book? I’m probably the slowest writer in the blogosphere – a book would take forever!
