for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt where the given word is Unrepentant.
The following is a cut-down version of a longer story I posted three years ago!

It’s not my fault,” said little Billy standing by the shattered flowerpot, “it was the football’s, it went the wrong way”.
Daddy was very cross.
Billy gave the football a serious talking-to. “You must go where I kick you, you got me into trouble”. The football was unrepentant.
“Right try again, and this time behave. One-two-three…”
There was the sound of breaking glass from Mrs Smith’s greenhouse next door.

*Football UK = Soccer ball USA!

Ha!! Usual excuse for broken windows was “Not my fault, he ducked!!”
But of course!
Hahaha…what Did Billy think was going to happen…giving the ball a stern talking to….Lol.
I think it’s called passing the buck!
Lol!! Right!
oops!
oops indeed!
Good one, Keith! lol
Thanks so much, Susan!
It was the fault of the football 🏈
But of course!
🎈😂🤣
Grrr – so true for so many of us – sadly! Cheers Hilary
Indeed! Thanks, Hilary.
Haha that football just didn’t listen – poor Billy in trouble again 😂
So’s the football!
😂
Reminds me of one of my sons who thought it was a good idea to practice his golf swing in the family room. The club slipped and landed in my cathedral ceiling. Oh, and when he was younger he swung his tennis shoe by the shoelace, the lace broke and so did my dragon figurine. Good thing we share DNA.
Oh my goodness! That’s even worse than Billy’s ball!
Ah, children, there’s a reason we tell you to go to the park with it!
Indeed Mimi!
Well done as always, Keith <3
~David
That’s very kind of you David, thank You.
Haha! Sometimes it’s best to leave well enough alone! Great job, Keith! 🏈 (An American football)
Absolutely! Another UK/USA difference (Handbag/purse, trousers/pants etc!) Our football is so called because it can only be controlled by the feet and never touched by the hands!
When you put it like that, it makes perfect sense! Damn Yankees! Oops … that was about baseball! ⚾️
