Wow! I wrote a similar one 😀! Maybe we are craving for some handwritten message.

A few years ago three other bloggers and I thought we’d try sending hand-written letters to each other. Unfortunately, it didn’t last long!

That’s wonderful! I’m so out of practice that my handwriting’s almost illegible!

My handwriting is a lot to be desired now as I find it hard to hold a pen for any length of time.

Nothing better than seeing an envelope, hand-written… Lovely, Keith

Not even! I mostly get electronic ones now… though there is one that is waiting for my official birthday to be opened 😉

Every Friday our prayer group sends hand-written postcards to the people we prayed for on the church list that day. Everyone in the group signs. Sometimes we get a hand-written reply, too.

My “day-after-Thanksgiving tradition” is to write out my Christmas cards. I make a big deal of it, too. An assortment of cards, my address book, my pen, stamps, return address labels and my cup of coffee decorate the dining room table where I busy myself most of the day with my cards. Turkey soup from Thanksgiving’s leftovers simmers in the kitchen while the first strains of Christmas music play on the radio. It’s one of my favorite days of the year. The last hand-written pieces of mail I received were Christmas cards in December and birthday cards in February; I cannot recall receiving a letter in years, though.

What a wonderful day that must be! Each year the number of Christmas cards I receive, and send, seems to decline. I hope they don’t become a thing of the past. A message on a screen just isn’t the same.

It is a wonderful day! The number of cards I receive and send is getting smaller, too, but I will not give up this tradition I enjoy so much! I happily discovered when my son got married, his wife’s mother and one of her aunts send cards for every occasion. Now I’m not just limited to Christmas and birthdays!

My memory of the last hand-written letter I received has not survived. Good point well-made, Keith.
