Seven-thirty she said. Okay, it’s seven twenty-six and fifteen seconds, but I’d rather be eagerly early than fashionably late. I never understood that saying anyway.
I ring her doorbell, no response. I knock on the door, hard – all I get is a sore knuckle. I throw some pebbles up at her window, but they hit one on the apartment below resulting in an angry reposte. Some people are so rude.
I feel a tap on my shoulder. I spin around and adopt the Kung Fu chop position – no one messes with me – but it’s her.
I’ve got the wrong day.

Thanks to Rochelle for hosting and to Lisa Fox for the photo.
By strange coincidence, yesterday I posted a series of photographs I took looking up at buildings! If you are interested, they are HERE!

Lol! I hope they still had a good time!
I’m sure they did! Thanks, Sadje.
You’re welcome Keith 👍🏼
How awkward!
Just a bit!
Whoops! I’ve been a day early before too, so embarassing! Well done, Keith.
Slightly better than a day late! Thanks, Mason.
For sure!
I marvel at how you can slip in a fresh take on words commonly used Keith…”
“knock…knuckle…up window…below throw…re-poste/riposte.
Awesome crafting of a tale.
Hope the two sorted out their schedules and that things are looking up!
Thanks so much, Suzette, that’s much appreciated. I hope so too!
Oh snap! Hope she went out with him anyway.
Fun story.
I’d like to think so! Thanks, Dawn.
Great last line laugh as usual Keith.
Thanks so much, Iain!
I am sure she will just laugh out loud at her eager beaver. Perhaps a diary for his birthday present.
I totally agree on both counts!
Ha!
Thanks, Beth!
Good one Keith
Thank you, Di.
One of life’s little flubs. And she learned never to sneak up on him, right?
Indeed, Christine!
He needs to get a calendar app on his phone that notifies him of his dates.
I’ll suggest it to him!
Oops! If she’s got a sense of humor, at least she knows he’s eager to see her again.
I quite agree, Mimi!
Phew! The ending is super!
Just when we thought it was a ghost/spooky.
He is obviously early- by a day or two!
He loves her for sure.
He’s certainly eager! Thanks, Anita.
Better early than late for sure! 💞
I quite agree!
As always Keith, a brilliant story.
Made me chuckle.
That’s really kind of you, thanks so much.
You’re welcome.
Loved this, Keith. Dating is such a tough game and so many things to get right and each of us has our tales of fish who got away.
Best wishes,
Ro
You are so right! Dating’s a dodgy business!
Dear Keith,
I hope she didn’t have a date with someone else that day. Cute story. Thanks for the morning chuckle.
Shalom,
Rochelle
Thanks, Rochelle. I didn’t think of that, I certainly hope not!
like they say, better early than late. 🙂
A few minutes, yes, but not a day! Cheers plaridel.
I enjoyed the sound affects, Keith. This is a lively fellow who must have all kinds of adventures. Very neat about the looking-up pics. You and Rochelle must have been on the same vibe yesterday.
Thanks so much, Lisa, I’m sure you are right!
You’re very welcome 🙂
Ha – I love the added sound effects Keith, and am visualising your ‘Kung Fu chop position’ laughing here 🙂
Thanks so much. It’s pretty scary Angela!
A cute story! I have a knack for getting days or times wrong so I found this totally relatable!
That must cause a few problems! Thanks so much.
Oh, I loved this – when I first saw the photo, my mind had two impressions; the first was of someone jumping out (or being pushed) of one of the windows. The second, was of someone tossing pebbles at the window. I’m so glad you took us down this road!
I’m so glad that you are glad! I’ll save the jumper for another day!
Whoops. That could have ended badly. Haha.
A close thing. Cheers Tannille!
I went to the dentist last week, only to discover when I arrived that I had the wrong day. They kindly accommodated me, though, so it wasn’t a wasted trip. Fun post, Keith 🙂
Oh dear that could have been difficult! Thank goodness it worked out!
He is very fashionably early. Well done.
Thanks so much. Several weeks too early I’d say! Better luck next time.
