‘Is that a new moon up there, or was it a full moon before you took a bite out of it?’
Tillie was the tallest girl in the school and she was used to her mates making jokes at her expense, but she didn’t mind. They said that her jokes went over their heads!
Someone once said that if the school was a zoo Tillie would be the giraffe! She told the lad that always cribbed during exams that he’d be the cheetah!
It had its advantages though, especially in a crowd when she had an uninterrupted view of whatever it was they were looking at. You wouldn’t have wanted to be the person behind her though! Once when she was at a music festival, she said short people were smoking weed so they could get high!
She reached new heights when she left school and became a sought-after fashion model.
By the way, what’s worse than a giraffe with a sore throat? A centipede with sore feet! Tillie would like that!

Tillie isn’t the only one that liked that joke! 🙂
BTW I do sympathize with Tillie. I was the skinniest girl in school. 🙁
It’s all behind you now though! Thanks so much.
It certainly didn’t land front and center. 🙁
Fabulous s-pun tall tale Keith. Nice to see that Tillie had the last laugh, making it big as a fashion model.
No need to climb the ladder of success, she was already there! Cheers, Suzette.
Lol, well said Keith. Cheers.
More clever puns! One of the young men here was Skyler K, and stood about 6′ 7″, head and shoulders above the others. I imagine he’s gotten a few wise cracks about his name.
He may have a crack or two in his forehead from low doorways too! A very apt name too!
Too aptly, in a way. When your name is Goodnough, or Goodenough, you can feel for others with names that may elicit a joke from every third person they meet. You’re right about the doorway cracks..
I guess you can!
<3
Thanks, Beth!
Well done, Tillie use the height to your advantage. Great story and joke, Keith!
Indeed she did Mason! Thank you.
You’re welcome.
Kudos to Tillie for showing them. A great story Keith. Thanks for joining in.
She used her height to her advantage. Thanks for the picture, Sadje.
Thanks Keith. It’s always a pleasure
Love this Keith. I was one of the tallest in my class and always had to be ‘the male’ when we had ballroom dance classes…… much as I loved them, they were very few and far between.
Thanks, Di. I’d forgotten about the ballroom dance classes at school! We used to line up in height order, boys opposite girls, then shuffle around as we stepped forward to ensure we got the partner we wanted!
I was at an all girls grammar school so it was always the tallest of us were the male lead.
At least you got to go forward!
Great tall tale Keith love it <3
I’m pleased! Thanks, Angela.
Fun story, she sounds like one with a great sense of humor.
She certainly is, Mimi!
Tillie would have been me in school. Same jokes about me being the tallest always. Thank God people are over it as I adulted! lol
🙂
Happy V-day Keith. Have a lovely one.
Thanks, and thanks again, Natasha!
I SPY a very funny and clever guy! You did it again, Keith; we all need a good laugh and you came through beautifully! Happy Valentine’s Day, dearie❣️ 💝
Thank you for your delightful comment Nancy, I find it far easier to be silly than serious!
Silly looks good on you, Keith!
You do write pun fun. I always enjoy what you write.
That’s so kind of you, Patricia, thank you!
Interesting story.
