For Sadje’s What Do You See? prompt
.
There was a horticultural college in Grassmere. Professor Blade was in charge, a disciplinarian who kept a close eye on his students, especially Iris, a good-looking girl who once blindsided him with a cutting remark that almost got her turfed out. He’d have given her a lashing if it was allowed. He told her to put a lid on it instead.
He quite liked Lawna. Whilst browsing through her landscaping plans he saw something that bordered on brilliant. Eye-eye, he thought, she’s on the verge of becoming a star pupil.
One day Iris saw Lawna mowing. It was then she decided to focus on maintaining rather than creating gardens.

Awesome story Keith. I was chuckling at Lawna mowing…she probably looked forlorn!!

I just hope Prof. Blade’s wife wasn’t left a grass widow! After all… the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence…
