When My Friend Rosey and my Muse get together they jabber away non-stop, which is why what you are about to read, should you wish to, has broken my strict self-imposed 200-word limit! Please accept my apologies.

I belong to a club for aspiring writers, we meet up now again and take turns reciting our literary efforts. It can go on a bit so there’s a prize for the first person to send someone asleep! Only kidding!
We had a New Year party and rather than go on my own I took along my friend Rosey as a plus one; she was more like a plus two once she got a drink or two inside her!
She really glammed up for the occasion, ie she didn’t wear jeans! She wore a rather swish blue dress. When Wordy Willie saw her he started singing Lady in Red, although for obvious reasons he changed it to Blue.
‘I was going to wear red’ chuckled Rosey, ‘but I don’t like that song’
‘Hope you’re not hungry then’, said W, ‘because we’re eating Chris de Burgers tonight!”
Rosey adopted her what are you on about? look!
Suddenly she suffered what I believe is called a wardrobe malfunction, as part of her dress flopped down very nearly exposing part of the anatomy that is usually concealed amongst polite company. She shot up her arm in an effort to preserve her modesty and in doing so spilt her wine.
Randy Rupert dashed across the room bearing a bottle.
‘Would like some more vino?’ he asked.
‘Just a little’ said Rosey, ‘a nip’ll do!’ You should have heard the laughter! *
Fortunately, she was able to quickly sort out her garment’s glitch.
She’s quite proud of a poem she once wrote. It’s the only poem she’s ever managed and I’ve heard it loads of times, but the fellow guests hadn’t, so she seized the opportunity!
What in the world is a wasp for?
It doesn’t contribute a thing.
All that it does is annoy me,
and it bloody well hurts when it stings!
She received a round of applause, even Bob the Bard and Poetic Pete joined in! She’s also been invited to join the club, though what she’d write I can’t imagine!
I eventually managed to drag her away, had I not done the party might have gone on all night, such was her popularity!
