A fairy story …

Millicent was skipping around the field in her pretty fairy costume when she heard a sad little voice.

      Help me, please help me.

She stopped, looked up into a tree and sitting on a branch was a tiny fairy child, her gossamer wings quivering, tears trickling down her pale cheeks.

Millicent held out her hand and the little fairy fluttered into the air and landed in her palm.

I am lost, can you take me home?

She knew where to take her, a secret place known only to children who truly believed in fairies, and so it was, a few minutes later the little fairy child was back with its family.

The Fairy Godmother thanked Millicent and promised that in good times and sad, there would always be a fairy to watch over her.

So if you ever see Millicent looking over her shoulder and smiling, you know that a fairy friend is just behind her..

This is so sweet. It lifted my heart, right after writing a very discouraged poem. Smiles. Thank you to the fairies and their friends.

Your poem, sombre though it may be, needs to be read and heeded.
