Yes that’s low tide. We follow the tides when we’re boating. Riding the tide saves lots of money.

Where in the UK are you? I never think of England and beaches, it’s so weird. I’ve been linking up for so many years with you and it still takes me by surprise….(What I don’t know about the world you could fill the internet with!)
England, being the largest part of an island has beaches to the east, south and west! I live on the south coast just across the water from France in a smallish coastal town called Bexhill-on Sea. Now you know!

Really interesting what one exposes at low tide. I really like the rock formations and curious about the ruined concrete pilings.

It’s amazing what is under the water. Mom lived on the North Sea Coast in Germany for several years. The tide went out so far, everyone drove cars on the sand, but when it came in, you needed to move fast. Sometimes people got caught out there.
Same problem here, you have to be so careful because you can find yourself on a little sandy island We do get horses galloping along the sand sometimes, and of course, dogs love it!
It is an unexpected sight to see the world at low tide. And there’s something so peaceful about the beach (well, at least at any other time of the year except hurricane season!)
There’s a different world down there! I have no wish to be on the beach today though, the weather’s atrocious!

They are indeed Jackie. There are still lots of intact groynes, or breakwaters as they are more commonly known here.

Love the third capture and the next to last one. My memories of taking a walk on a wet beach – I still remember – in Holland and in California (the last one not so wet:)) Now I am too far from the beach – alas. Thanks for the memory how peaceful and live giving that was!
