Sixty-five words

for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt where the given word is Outcry.

It was bound to cause an outcry, after all, the graveyard was centuries old and the idea of building houses on it divided the community.

A meeting was held and the proposal was put to the vote, whereupon it marginally won.

The door creaked open, and a column of ashen-faced individuals filed in.

‘We wish to vote’, hissed one.

A year on, the graveyard remains.

About one mile down the road from me is a small area surrounded by a metal fence. ‘Supposedly’ there are a few graves there. No one knows for sure, but the property owner can’t build on it.

How intriguing! Guess you’ll never really know what lies beneath the surface.

What delightful bite-size fiction you have given us here, Keith 🙂 Cause every day’s a good day for a ghost story! 😀

Nicely done, Keith. One only need see the American supernatural horror film (1982), Poltergeist, to know that this outcome is very much for the best.
