It’s FriFic time!

A little bit of nonsense for Friday Fictioneers!

.

That looks nice!

Yea, a pineapple or ananus as some call them!

Really?

Yea, it’s from the Bromeliaceae family.

Do they own that fruit shop up the hill?

No, silly, that’s the pineapple’s botanical name.

Now you’re confusing me! Anyway, what are you doing with it?

How about a pineapple upsidedown cake?

Is that an Australian thing?

Don’t be daft!  Actually, I could make us some piña colada.

Pinacollawolla what?

Or a Flaugnarde, a Clafoutis, a Pineapple Bomb…

It does look a bit like a huge hand grenade!

Perhaps a Pineapple Fool’s more appropriate!

Why not chop just it into chunks?

Good idea!

Now you made me want to have pineapple “something” preferably with a bit of rum and coconut. Well done, Keith.

Thank you, Marja. I think I may have spelt it incorrectly and the Dutch version is what I had in mind!

    Dear Keith,

All the lovely things that can be made with pineapple. I enjoyed this miscommunication as well as the pineapple education. 😉

It’s a tricky one. Just what do you do with a fresh pineapple? Think of the mess. Oh, are pineapple slices allowed on ham pizza?

Very good. I loved your wordplay in this. And you’ve just given me an idea for this afternoon’s baking. Pineapple cake it is. Upside down of course, as I’m in Australia. 😊

Ananus, huh? LOL. It’s Ananas in German as well. So many yummy recipes wasted. But fresh chunks, hmmm… sometimes the simple way is the best.

Sometimes, the simple solution is the best. Pineapple chunks are quite delicious.
