Time to rhyme …

for Friday Fictioneers

I know it’s here somewhere

but where tell me where?

When I finished last night

I left it right there.

Ten hours of scribbling

and scratching my head,

before I was happy

and headed for bed.

My pen is still here,

my blotter, my ink.

But where is my poem?

I just cannot think.

Has it dropped to the floor,

is it under that book?

Is it tucked in those papers,

where else can I look?

There’s just one thing for it

this place is a mess.

Now is the time

To sort out my desk!

    Dear Keith,

Oh, you have captured me in verse. I’ve heard it said that those who are proud of keeping a tidy house will never know the joy of finding something they thought irretrievably lost. Love this poem.

Thanks, Rochelle. I’ve always wanted an excuse, thanks to you I now have one!

Oh, do I know! You’ll have to be like me and pile all loose papers in a tub labelled “Someday.” That’s ORDER chez moi. 😉

Wonderful. It feels like the desk tidying has been put off for too long! 🙂

A tidy desk is the sign of a dull mind.
    Do you believe that?
    No, me neither…
I bet your poem’s gone down the back of the desk amongst all the cables!

That’s my excuse, even though I don’t actually believe it, and don’t start me on cables!

Whimsical and entertainment at its best. Loved it. I believe the stairs in my house are connected to some time warp. I can’t remember why I went upstairs or even how I got there!

I so love this, wonderful. Whenever I clean up the mess on my desk, I never find anything afterwards. My chaos has method.

Funny you should say that, I have 3 pairs dotted around so I always have one in view when needed!
